Annoying: NBA teams are using way too many jerseys [and using them wrong]
I know this isn't a new issue, because it's been going on for a few years now - ever since Nike decided to scrap regular Home and Away uniforms in favor of Icon, Statement, City, Retro etc. I mean, even that would have been fine, but then teams started to completely ignore the age-old rule of playing in your white/light color uniform at home and dark uniform on the road.
This was a complete and total money-grab from Nike, trying to sell as many jerseys as possible, while in a way diluting the very identity of teams. I can look back at any random picture from the 80s, 90s, 2000s and early 2010s, featuring two teams on the court, and even in the absence of a court logo, I can tell where the game is being played simply by the color of the jerseys. Simple? Pointless? I donno, maybe. But there was a certain stability to it.
No other sport has done this, not the NFL, not NHL, not even European soccer. Sure, the MLB is experimenting with alternative home uniforms, but they at least stick with it - they don't use them for road games or vice versa.
I'd love it if we could somehow go back to how it was before and continue to pay tribute to all the previous eras in NBA basketball.

Yes but they keep the same color scheme consistent, and they don't wear their home colors at away games!

I agree on all points. And as for all-star game jerseys, we should bring this back:

Hell yeah dude! Back when they paid tribute to their teams/cities during the ASG.. instead of everyone wearing the same colors.

Either that.. or revert to the traditional RWB uniforms

Then they can't sell more all star edition jerseys

Give me white home jerseys, team color road jerseys, one alternate, and one limited special edition per season.

That's not true either. For example, Arsenal's traditional colors are red/white at home, and yellow/blue on the road. This year their road jersey is black/gold, with an alternate third in pink. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Look at this sht:
https://www.footballkitarchive.com/arsenal-fc-kits/#2010s
I'm not a fan of the NBA's constant jersey swapping either, but soccer takes the proverbial cake. With the exception of a handful of iconic colors/patterns, if you stripped the crest/sponsors off you'd have no clue who most teams are anymore.

I never liked this. The white ones look fine, but the mixture of all the colorful jerseys on the court looked terrible. I don't like the modern all-star jerseys because they have been boring and you can't distinguish one year from another just at a glance. In theory, I'd be ok with the logo of the team in an otherwise uniform color with the rest of the all-star team, but so far when they have done this, the jersey is otherwise boring. But given a chocie, I want jerseys that represent the host cities, like those classic Phoenix all-star game jerseys with the cactus on them.

I didn't love it or hate it, I felt it was more for MLB. Back then the East hosted several years, but if the west hosted, Kobe and Shaq would be in gold, while their teammates in white.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

White home jerseys in the NBA were boring. I'm glad NBA finally allowed solid home jerseys like the NFL has always done for years.
When you think of a team, you associate them with their colors. Celtics green, Lakers gold and purple, Bulls red. In the NFL the 49ers red and gold, Packers green, Raiders black and silver, etc. Teams should be repping their colors at home.
I remember when GSW was rebranding for 2010, they asked the NBA if they can wear solid gold jerseys as their home uniforms instead of whites, but the NBA said only the Lakers can have a solid colored home jersey because they've been grandfathered into it. Now it's cool to see every team able to rep their colors at home.
EDIT: Agree with too many jerseys and alternate colors, disagree with wearing only whites at home.

Nothing worse than the pink Wizards away jerseys. So embarrassing…but that franchise has no standards anyway.

It's gone too far now but it is what it is. The one thing that disappoints me though is that the legacy/blue blood organizations have just gone along with this like their brands/colors/logos aren't iconic. In the NFL the Packers, Steelers, Cowboys, Raiders, 49ers will wear an alternate jersey for maybe a game or two but for the most part wear their traditional home/away jerseys for the majority of a season. The Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, and Dodgers keep it simple as well. There's no reason the Lakers and Celtics should have as many jerseys as they do. I'll throw the Bulls, Trailblazers and Spurs and the Knicks in there as well cause these teams imo have iconic jerseys that you distinguish with them being on the road or at home.

I definitely agree. Shouldn't be more than 3 per season.

100% agree here. The biggest offender is the "City" edition jersey, the vast majority of which are just flat-out terrible, and even the few that are good usually stray far from a team's established historical identity/branding. On top of that, they get used too often and change every season, so good ideas get cycled through quickly and teams just end up with junk in the pursuit of pumping out new jerseys every year for merchandise sales.
My other complaint is more teams are starting to introduce wacky stuff as the "Statement" edition, which is the Nike equivalent of what used to be considered alternate jerseys. In the old days, alternates were often just re-colored or color-inversed equivalent of a team's regular jersey, which for the most part worked fine and looked good for a change of pace. We're starting to get more "out there" stuff in this category as well; stuff that would be better put in the "City" edition category, IMO. The Pistons' new Statement edition introduced this year is a prime offender here:

They also have a green jersey that has the bucks colour scheme. I don’t mind the dark jersesys at home or bot teams donning dark colours.

Bill Lambier allegedly punched a hole in the wall when the Pistons unveiled their dark green city uniform. Pistons wearing Celtic Green (although not traditional Boston Garden/Kelly Green).
Some clubs honor local artists/graffiti work. Brooklyn this season is doing a white version of the 2020-21 set. Minnesota is honoring hometown hero Bob Dylan with local Minneapolis/St. Paul art work. Dallas did one in 2019-20 honoring Dallas/Ft. Worth graffiti artists.
But yes I long for the days when clubs just had Home (White or Gold for Lakers) and then a dark color for Away or a "Road Alternate".
