Insane that the Lakers didn’t even have to give up Austin Reaves or at least Max Christie.

Lakers get younger with players all in their 20s meanwhile Suns are debating which 34 yr old to trade for, Gordon or Durant.

A little bit of positive news here to help turn some frowns upside down hopefully! :D

Or... Mat sets up the D league team and facilities in his hometown to bridge the gap. Then hires his hometown buddies, which also allows him to have access to a court/facilities and team when he is home. He could be even more hands-on with the D-league team and experiment with front-of-the-office staff without the microscope of the NBA public.

This is fantastic news!!

Love it. I thought getting rid of that was 1 of Sarver's biggest recent dumb moves. Robbing us of a farm system. We can actually hire some scouts and use the draft to our advantage, maybe this will mean Mat will buy draft picks off cheap/poor owners who want to sell them for cash....hopefully.

James Jones will hold a press conference tomorrow to say that our trade deadline additions are Cam Johnson and Devin Booker and the future additions of Cam Payne and Landry Shamet.

James Jones really got a dream job. Does nothing and gets paid handsomely while being able to watch Suns games from great seats.

From Suns Reddit but so true. He traded for CP3 like 2-3 years ago and basically quit giving a **** since then.

Another thing about holding onto Saric, Craig and Shamet....we basically lose that cap space if we let them expire (unless we want to re-sign them). I can see re-signing Craig, but I hope they are not really considering that.

Saric has been a nice surprise relative to what was maybe expected, but he still cannot be a playoff rotation player if we plan on going anywhere.

CP3 forced his way here, literal broccoli could've traded for him.

CP3 basically traded himself. Im sure all JJ had to do was press the "accept" button, heck he even made Indiana write Ayton's contract for him.

Just got back from the gym. Did JJ pull off a miracle trade?

Just checking because the Mavs landed Kyrie and the Lakers dumped Westbrook for DAR.

He probably will say something to that effect though, which is funny. I thought (and still think) that he would definitely trade Crowder for something, but it's getting so late that things could very well fall through if he is still trying to work it.

I am one of the few, with Paul being better than expected though, that thinks our 9 man rotation, if healthy, is still pretty solid. I am not much of a fan of Shamet but was glad to see him step up with a couple 31 pt games when we were out a bunch of players. And I'm higher on Payne than most, especially if Saric is playing (though I don't trust Saric for the playoffs).

But the starting 5 is solid and Payne, Lee, Craig and probably Shamet make up a decent bench. Then the other 3 bigs are ok.

My biggest fear as I've mentioned for like 2 years is the pt guard of the future unless it works with Book and Bridges in the backcourt, but that's probably next year.

I am not sure if Payne is coming back though. Someone here said his injury is really serious...so no idea.

More over, CP3 had to talk our front office into doing the trade. JJ and Sarver didn't agree to this at first...they had to be coerced.
