Raptors still have a chance to make things very interesting. I can see FVV to the Clippers or Heat. GTJ to Spurs. Anunoby to the Blazers (especially now with Hart gone and an extra pick to play with). Siakam likely stays put if I had to guess.

I will say this as the apparent sole glass half full guy left on the board today: Let's not judge JJ yet.

All of these trades IMO makes a deal with Toronto more likely. Our teams have always made sense as partners as they need a big and we need a PF. With all of the other teams making deals, it's kinda like we're left just staring at each other. I also can't get the image of Masai and JJ just hanging out talking to each other during our game. I mean they weren't just chatting about places to go grab a good burger I'm sure.

Suns have missed on a once in a generation chance to get both Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook on this team to back up Chris Paul and team chemistry and culture would be at an all time high. F' James Jones and Mat Ishbia you're the worst owner in the NBA since Robert Sarver!!! :noway: (green font)

As long as the big is landale or bizzy because we ain't winning a championship with either of those guys at center.

Saric has been a nice surprise relative to what was maybe expected, but he still cannot be a playoff rotation player if we plan on going anywhere.

Moving on from at least one of the two expiring deal (Dario/Crowder) is a non-negotiable in my view. If you want to keep Saric and resign him to a cheapo deal...not a fan but yeah whatever maybe but if we kept both, I would be asking for JJ's resignation. Like if you can't even move Crowder (who has value around the league) for anything, that's straight up mismanagement

Can always re-sign those guys to a bit of a bloated 2yr deal with a team option on the 2nd year to roll over the 'expiring salary slot(s)' I suppose.

Yeah, as long as you think they are positive trade assets because you are paying luxury tax. They probably have their most value now. With Craig I can see doing it. With Saric maybe they sign for less with team option.

Isn't there a rule though that players have to approve trades where it is a 2 year deal with a team option for the 2nd year?

Maybe it doesn't have to be Ayton, but I still think the Dinos make a ton of sense for us. CamJo and stuff for Siakam?

That works but I'm more worried about back up pg and spots 6 through 9 than I am the starting 5.

He won’t ask for a trade but I bet Mikal wouldn’t mind ending up on the Knicks somehow.

The thing is though that IF it's true that the raptors are trading Trent Jr for Poetl, then they obviously wouldn't want/need Ayton anymore. So where would our value really come from then?? Johnson alone wouldn't be enough for either Anunoby or Siakim. And I don't see Toronto wanting any of our high value expirings....lol

I like Ishbia's strategy of giving press conferences/interviews about how he is willing to go into the luxury tax and add players and all that while the trade deadline expires.

James Jones has really been out of his element dealing with these other GMs. Trades other teams are wondering if he is serious and it's a joke, Jalen Smith over multiple solid players, and an all star PG, then declining his option and trading him for Craig, explaining they have beefed up draft analysis by getting closer seats, then later saying they don't care about the draft and wouldn't have taken Booker, etc.

I wonder why we decided on a guy just retired from the NBA was ready to be a main part of the front office. Hopefully at least we can get some buyout guys, like his buddy Love and his UCLA teammate Westbrook maybe.

Trade Crowder for Caleb Martin. Or trade Saric for him and Crowder for some guard...even Coby White if that's all you can get.

Our starting 5 is good enough to win it all, but after that it's not close we really need to improve 6 through 9. It's all there but gotta make the moves and quit dreaming of KD, that ship sailed
