Jerami Grant happened. Hart went from 14FGA last year to the same number of attempts as Justice Winslow.

It would be quite odd/bizarre for the knicks to trade a first round pick for Hart in order to cut into the minutes of a young 20 ppg scoring former high round pick they just extended at 30 million PER, IMHO. Then again the first Reddish trade was bizarre too.

Is this an accurate write up about Josh Hart?

Josh Hart is a very established player. Here's what he is:

1. ⁠Dude plays hard and cares (sometimes too much)
2. ⁠He's physical and he seeks out shot blockers, going right into their bodies, sometimes getting FTs out of the deal
3. ⁠He's passionate, which can lead to scraps & techs
4. ⁠He's an outstanding rebounder for his size
5. ⁠He competes on defense, and that makes him a positive on that end, though he doesn't have elite defensive instincts or physique
6. ⁠He plays bigger than he is
7. ⁠He's very alert, so he's a reliable cutter, he'll jump a passing lane, and he knows how much time is on the clock at all times
8. ⁠He's an ok shooter--defenders will pay if they leave him alone, although he's not likely to catch fire and light it up from deep

Just think he might be moved due to Sharpe showing some signs in POR

Honestly at this point does it matter if he plays well for then or not, he was done here and would have been on some other team next year anyway, so at least it helped get Hart. I’d root for him to do well on his new team if I liked him but I don’t so I hope he’s still bad over there too

Hart is shooting worse from three than RJ and on lower volume of attempts, the only way starting Hart would work is if Grimes became a 20ppg scorer.

You know how I feel about Grimes ceiling on offense. I think with a bigger role he can be a pretty good scorer and facilitator. I would do it. Plus RJ has been struggling a lot lately as a starter. I think he could be great for our bench since we don't have much scorers besides IQ

He has to want to do that, I like Grimes, but his mindset right now is just to defer, and that doesn't have much to do with RJ. The games RJ missed Grimes averaged 13ppg. Removing RJ from the lineup and replacing him with Hart is too risky of a move, especially since Hart is struggling with confidence on his shot.

He took more shots per game when RJ was out though. And he had a pretty good stretch from late december to early January without RJ. I would take the gamble. Worst case scenario you put RJ back as a starter. I don't think it's much of a risk since RJ hasn't been good lately.
