James Jones making trades is like GoK trying to type a tweet and stay under the character limit.
Sorry GoK...I had too...j/k!

So with this LA trade going down, how much better do you think LA got?
ie are they a solid play-in team? Are they are solid playoff team? Are they a 2nd round exit? WCF candidate?

I'm gonna say it again, We can still turn this around to add decent depth upgrades by the deadline!
1- Trade Crowder/Saric/ Craig to Atlanta for Collins.
** Move Johnson back to the bench in a super 6th man role!
2- Flip Shamet/ Payne/ 2 2nds Trent Jr to Toronto for Trent Jr.
3- Sign Wall quickly from the buyout market.
Now we've successfully added Collins/ Trent Jr/ Wall to our bench depth for only expirings and 2 2nds!!!
Paul/ Booker/ Bridges/ Collins/ Ayton.
Wall/ Trent Jr/ Okogie / Johnson/ Biyombo.
** Maybe add a replacement defensive wing from the buyout pool?

If AD starts to play a little better, they are a playoff team for sure. they have some ground to make up, but they just traded for 3 legit starters

The ship has probably sailed but I’d like to get back into the Anunoby talks. Cam + our first, or a few firsts + expirings. I know OG comes with health concerns, but I really don’t want to be paying Cam 25M or whatever he’ll cost. He’s like a 17-18M player and not a real starting PF in my opinion (though I know plenty here disagree on that).

Better option than Payne (who might never play again at this rate again)
I mean who else would you consider a better alternative from a possible buyout option?

Nobody because there is not much left. JJ wants to run point Book and put everything on his shoulders.
Also we are paying CamJo contrary to popular belief.

That's a lateral move though, maybe a sleight improvement better D worse O, but it's a sideways trade. And OG isn't a PF either. Siakam is a pf if you are making that type of move.

IF healthy??? They're now a solid playoff team (maybe a 2nd or 3rd round competitive team)!

It would appear that this is the team we should expect in the playoffs which is head scratcher after last season.
Matt owns the team now no more **** excuses.

Compare their roster now to the team that won the title. This team is better.
That should tell you how much better they got.

RealGM needs a character limit like Elons twitter.

I hear ya! But I'm just really leery of putting that much pressure on Book given his leg injury. And possibly compounding it or reaggravating it even further due to more heavy usage! I'm concerned that IF he does, then it might further reduce his long term durability. And even possibly shorten his career?!?!??
Now I'd honestly prefer D Rose for like Saric/Payne/ 2nd or something, But at this point I think Jones will once again limit our options to the freaking buyout pool with similar outcome to last season from excessive wear and tear! Out of the likely available buyout backcourt insurance options, I see Wall as a pretty decent consideration for the low cost we'd bid for him.

Lol! I know man. Whatever helps I guess. But my recent posts have shown a bit of improvement though.

The talent level is second-tier championship contender - two theoretical MVP contenders with age/injury limitations, another fringe All-Star, enough players to fill out a decent rotation. But the fit looks awkward (they have far more volume scorers than plus defenders among the guys who deserve playing time), and they don’t have a lot of time to figure it out under a rookie coach. I’m more worried about them than the Mavs, but there’s still a decent chance they’ve lost more ground than they can make up.
