Overall though, I think Hart is best as an energy bench guy that can play and defend multiple positions. Don’t see him taking RJs starting spot, but probably takes some of his min.

Would also hate to see Deuce lose his spot too….actually would rather see Hart take Obi’s spot and see some small ball bench lineups….Hart/Hart/RJ/Deuce/IQ

If everybody played normal NBA minutes this isn’t a problem. We’ve all become to use to Thibs sadomasochism heavy minute rotations. Hopefully adding Hart helps….

As one of the biggest RJ fans out there, If we could get Bridges for RJ , Duece and a first (Washington), I’d be more than ecstatic for the club :

Brunson / IQ
Grimes / Hart
Bridges / Hart
Randle / Toppin
Mitch / Hartenstein / Sims

Small ball :
JB / Hart / Grimes / Bridges / Randle

BUT, that won’t happen so I’ll be happy with same starers, RJ subbing out first and running second until with defenders such as Hart, IQ and Duece

He's about to turn 28 in a month. Thought he was a litter younger. Oh well. Hope we advance to the second round now so the pick doesn't hurt as much.

My most bitter post ever.
Mid move for a mid team.23 year old defensive wing for a 28 journeyman.
another non shooter on the floor, we have no defensive wing on this team.
Fire Thibs.

Masai Ujiri is only going to bite on a deal with us if nothing is left on the bone. He isn't dealing with us in good faith.

He'll get minutes and Knicks probably not done roster shaping

RJ would be the best asset he's getting for OG. He's playing himself if he turns that down

Solid pick up. Hart fills up the stat sheet and he's still fairly young.

Hart isn't starting. Why do we keep assuming he's starting.

It makes perfect sense if Hart just takes most of Deuce minutes and some of RJ's.

You dont trade a decent first round pick for someone who is expected to take around 10 minutes. Hart is a Thibs type player, someone else in our current rotation is going to be traded.

But we have two first round picks and are still keeping the Mavs pick. Mavs will improve with Kyrie but still most likely a pick in the 20-26 range.

Based on our track record they'll find the guy they like and want at that pick anyway

Hes_On_Fire wrote:The Knicks would be the type of team to trade a first round pick for a backup SG/SF. They traded a pick for a guy who never played aka Cam. Nothing Leon does surprises me.

This is why Im hesitant right now.

I know we just went through this with Cam, and Thibs will like Hart way more, but if we traded our first rounder (assuming we make the playoffs) for Hart then he has to start or at least play 25+ minutes right?

Well Idk where those minutes come from. Deuce is only 10 mpg and we’re already at a 9 man rotation. So either we go to an 8 man and remove Obi’s 10 mpg too or we just take a few minutes each from RJ, Grimes, and IQ.

Brunson 34 / IQ 14
Grimes 28 / IQ 10 / Hart 10
RJ 30 / Hart 18
Julius 35 / Obi 13
Mitch 27 / iHart 21

Something like that makes sense as is.

Very true, but I would feel that he would still ask for more - simply because he's petty.

yeah if we win the play in and get waxed and that pick is like 15th or 16th overall and Hart opts out of his contract...it wont look like a great deal.

I like hart as a decent rotational piece but we def gave up a good solid asset for him.

I think there will be a lot of mutual interest in him sticking around

Glad to see the Knicks burn a pick and Cam (ok, Thibs didn't give a single f*ck about Cam) for another undersized SG who can't shoot.

Idk where the defend all 4 positions comes from tbh, that's a stretch. The man is 6'4, maybe 6'5 at best.
