who is the back up 4 if we move obi?

RJ/Hart at the 3/4….seems like most teams play that way anyway off the bench…watching Dallas/LAC and they each have 1 C and all wings and guards with there bench lineups. Not many PFs anymore, except for Thibs
Mavs
C: Horford | Goga | Paul Reed |
PF: Lauri Markkanen | Randle | Tucker
SF: Trey Murphy | Trent | Anderson | Simone

We got Grimes and IQ at 25. We're just as good of a chance at getting someone good with the Mavs pick.

Rather punt one of our picks now to try and improve instead of just throwing it away on draft night

We might also have the Wizards pick in the same range, no? The Knicks were never going to draft 3 players in the 1st round.

they could have had similar production to hart if they just drafted the guy who went right after the pick they moved

it can't be ignored how poorly this front office is using it's resources. the process is a mess.

Yeah. They are bad with asset management IMO. They waste time/assets/cap space every year so far. I can see the plan they are trying to pull off but, they are sloppy as fuq trying to get there.

Sims. We know Thibs loves Sims/Shart lineup!

You could go get a random vet like Robert Covington. Derrick Rose for Robert Covington and a 2023 1-20 protected first round pick and if not 8 second rounders.

I still think they package Obi and the Dallas pick to move up in the draft.

Whatever. Sims is here. The backups PF isn't getting a lot of minutes anyway.

Call up the nets and offer RJ+Obi + all the picks for KD+DFS

Brunson
Grimes
KD
Randle
Mitch

IQ
Hart
DFS
Hartenstien or Sims

that is a legit championship team if Randle continues to play well.
4-Peat! 22-25 BAF Champion Spurs:

ROSTER

Walker Kessler/Daniel Gafford/Adem Bona
Nikola Jokic/Santi Aldama/Isaiah Stewart
Aaron Nesmith/Josh Hart/Jaime Jaquez
Alex Caruso/Keon Ellis/Justin Champagnie
Steph Curry/Chris Paul/Ryan Rollins

Didn't we get 4 1sts for the one we traded? I can't really agree that that is bad asset management.

Deuce to lose some minutes here.

I'd make RJ the backup 3/4 and trade Obi.

RJ = can't shoot, not great at finishing, not good defensively
Hart - Not shooting this year, good at finishing, good at defense

RJ playing 28 mpg off the bench is the move. Or should be.

I love people who can’t even look up simple stats make assumptions about players based on little information. Hart isn’t a star, but for a guard to average 8.2 rebounds a game, and then say he can’t shoot when he’s shooting over 50% from the field. He’s struggling to shoot 3’s but skills he brings to this team will help a lot

that's too small

and like bluntson said, thibs is more like to run sims at the 4 than rj

Should be but won't be. They're a better shot at selling RJ as all-star potential and packaging him for OG. The minute they move him to the bench I think they're dropping his ceiling from a trade value POV and they probably want to keep that high so he can be included in the next big deal.

We essentially traded 3 1sts for Josh Hart, since Knox/Cam were top 10 picks themselves even if they busted.

Unfortunate, but Ill be hopeful. Lets see if Leon got anything else cooking besides his midnight microwaved nachos.
