So at least he's an upgrade from DLO!!

Dlo makes some very smart plays on defense but lacks physicality

DLO is a pretty good team defender and does fine when you can hide him on the opposing teams worst perimeter player. However, he struggles with on ball defense and containment, and it becomes glaring when he has to defend athletic scoring guards.

Agreed. Dlo has his good and bad moments on the other side on the floor too. Lets see what other moves will be made from now on, because i doubt this will be the last trade this season

He has the physical profile and athleticism to be a plus defender, and the advanced metrics mostly rate him as being above average. I'm really curious why a guy shooting 40% on 3s who seems like he should be a decent defender wasn't playing much in Utah.

yeah...I was also wondering the same. Maybe Jazz felt like his 3 pt shooting this year might be bit of a fluke and unsustainable as it's still a small sample and he didn't shoot well in previous seasons

Tomorrow is going to be very interesting.

We need to clear a roster spot, so i'm wondering if we do a 2 for 1 deal tomorrow, or if it's Brynn/Ryan that get waived.

Isn't it amazing Bev, Beas, Vando, and Dlo with LeBron and Anthony Davis. I hate the Lakers.

Agreed 100%. Yes. Yeah but feels like the Gasol where GMs got a bit pantsed by LA.

Hate Lakers too but they got way better

It makes absolutely no sense why we would help the Lakers out like this. And now Ant....man.. he's now going to watch most of his friends play with each other while he's stuck here with an injured kat and a center who gets in his way haha And L.A. will probably kick us out of the play in, and the picks that Danny has are now even more valuable. I don't know if Conely is a vocal leader but I can say that Dlo tried.

Yay for Conley, I've had enough of D'Lo even if he was heating up the past few weeks. Conley fits much better and salary wise too.

Lakers running our last year's squad with D'Lo, Pat Bev, Vando and Beasley just change KAT and Ant to LeBron and Davis

Connelly doesn't stand pat on trade deadlines, those 2nds are helpful with the way he drafts. If he really does draft well, those will definitely help replacing late firsts we would've gotten if we had our picks.

He just inadvertently traded Vanderbilt and Beasley 3x times already

I am happy and thanks a lot to DLO for improving his value in the past two months, it was looking bleak at the start of the season for us.

If he improved his value why did we get nothing for him in trade?

Because we have an idiot for a GM

Minnesota rolled over their salary slot with a similar impact player for next season, get to try out an RFA, and got three seconds for a dude who was more than likely gone after this season.

Is it me, or are 3 seconds more valuable than a highly protected first? Especially when we expect Connelly to be good at drafting.
1st rounder... guaranteed first two years
2nds... non-guaranteed.
How many players from second half of first end up being legit rotational players?

Can't believe how many wolves fans are upset. Definitely like the trade.

We have too many casuals in the fandom. This is a good trade for the wolves and I don’t think Connelly is done yet.

A first comfortably has more value, but I still think Minnesota did well in the trade.

Preserving the salary slot makes this a winning trade for the Wolves all by itself.

All 3 teams won this trade.

The Lakers just became the Minnesota Lakers and improved their team with talent to make the Playoffs and give their fans a sense of hope.

I bet you that Ainge was surprised with his team success rate and needed to make his team worse to get a better draft pick and I will continue to root for them to win for the obvious reason. He is betting on draft picks which we all know how that can go.

I believe we did this right for multiple reasons. Having a floor general to distribute the ball to Ant, Kat, McDaniels and Gobear. Also to play consistent Defense. We have plenty of scoring but need a leader which Dlo is not.

So the Lakers improved their team to make them competitive, the Jazz are betting they will do better in the future with draft picks and we got a proven leader for the next 2 years which will give us time for us to find his replacement.

He shot atrociously till he got regular minutes. When we were competing for the playoffs, it didn't make sense to disrupt our rotation for a player that needed significant development. With both he and THT our coaching staff acted as if they were rookies, i.e. that they needed to learn almost everything about how to play in the NBA because their coaching experience to that point had been so terrible. NAW looked bad to start this season, too, and all the players said the same thing "he is really talented, he just needs confidence." Usually, that means a player is terrible, but in this case it seemed to be true. I think he's going to be a solid backup point guard at some point in his career, maybe even now.

RE: shooting, I'm not sure if I have a ton of confidence, but when he started to get that role with Conley out he was hitting them. New Orleans fans seemed to think he was a good shooter. Last year it felt like he would never make a shot.

I feel like if you already have stars and looking for role players, then having 3 SRPs is probably better than having a lottery protected FRP.

I'm more curious about the followup. 3 2nds + Naz + Nowell feels like enough assets to add at least someone interesting?

He should have gotten more for a player like Dlo. we've seen time and time again that it could be done. All the people talking about "we can't trade Rudy because pennies on the dollar" We are a better team with a mobile Center. Period. With Rudy on the team and Kat now being guarded by PF it's going to get bad.
I'm not going to give credit to a guy who made a bad trade. made another trade that didn't get a decent return and who put us in a worse position while making another team who was going to be out of the playoffs INTO it.
