I would guess Kyrie got traded first because Durant didn't react at the time, same as usual. Only a few days later did he decide he was out, and that's how that works.

imo he gets way overrated on this board because he can score. and he's unsigned needing a bigger contract than bridges. and he has some kyrie krazy in him. id rather have bridges + cam than jaylen.



and further we know smart wasnt included in the boston offer -- and cam johnson is probably just as valuable of an asset to get as smart.

i dont think any team had better unprotected picks to get than phoenix. bridges is on one of the best contracts in the nba. cam johnson is another up and coming wing. bridges is super high character and a winner since nova.

this team has an identity that fits right in with jacque vaughn and a ton of assets going forward.

No. For what? It’s a good rotation to develop a defensive identity and stay competitive. Why deal guys who been here and on contract friendly deals?

Crowder, Royce, Mikal, Finney Smith next to Claxton will be a huge step forward for a defensive minded team unless some team is willing to deal a quality pick back.

crowder will be traded or bought out.

it wouldnt shock me if one of the guys above gets dealt. curry makes the most sense to trade since its hard to see him getting extended. i wouldnt be surprised to see simmons gone too, though im not sure there's urgency to do that (or a team that wants him).

mills probably sticks around because he's a solid vet who can handle the ball.

i could see 1 of dfs/oneal traded if someone offers a first since the nets have so much wing depth now and should probably keep starting cam thomas for a while.

or maybe they are fine bringing both those guys off the bench as a backup unit. or maybe they want to play cam in 6th man role.

This was a better deal than what Boston offered, especially given Brown's outspoken nature and criticism of Tsai. Plus I don't love that Brown will hit FA without his team being able to give him similar money in an extension.

Yeah, that bubonic-plague pessimism is ridiculous. This sounds like a WAY BETTER trade than anyone offered for KD this summer. Just blows Boston's right out of the water.

Also fantastic timing to get some good hauls for two injury-prone, expensive players on the wrong side of 30, one of whom brings endless toxicity & drama to his team.

Great opportunity now for the Nets to see what they have, see how players mesh, and make some adjustments in the summer without having to be held hostage by 2-3 planet-sized egos.
