Re: Trade Deadline Approaches
Think about the teams without 7-0 guys. The Celtics for example have Robert/Grant Williams
to go with Brown/Tatum. We just saw Milwaukee with Giannis. Sixers have Emblid.
Its understandable to want to win with Dame but the team isn't winning anything with Eubanks
and Nurk/???.
The thing is though, the loss of the picks, youth and Dame's big contract is going to make finding
young players difficult until Dame's contract is history after the 2026-7 season. Having to pay
OG, Bridges and Grant in addition to Dame makes free agency impossible.

There are plenty of vet min centers out there you could sign to throw out to hard foul those guys you mentioned. There’s the buy out market as well. Why not sign Dwight, Cousins, AND Whiteside LOL?. I’m sure you could get a decent game out of one of them every 3 games plus it would be kind of hilarious.

Re: Trade Deadline Approaches
Past Blazer teams that had playoff success were respectable up front for the 2014 team had LA,
2018-9 had Kanter/Collins and other Blazer teams had Sheed, Duckworth.
I just think the Blazers are in a similar position to where Minnesota was in 2006 when they had KG
for he was a great player but took up an inordinate amount of their cap that kept the team from
building around him. Eubanks is doing a yeoman's amount of hard work but he's not an NBA level
center for a playoff team that could win. Those playoff caliber teams are able to run their offenses
to take advantage of a team's biggest weaknesses. Its one thing to make one big move that adds a
piece to what a team has and if they could add a piece without sacrificing what their future, it
would be okay. Unfortunately this Blazer team isn't in position to succeed in the playoffs unless that
piece is a star player and that guy was traded to Phoenix.

Some teams are going to have empty roster spots. We can reroute the alphabet throw ins or ship out Brown. If Keon and Winslow can get us a center this will be a good deadline.
From Portland to Reno to Vegas to LA to SLC and on to HotLanta. Winning at life. Too Blessed to be Stressed

Edit: Would you package Keon+Brown+Knicks pick for Mark Williams?

Unless Mark is a low key locker room issue I don’t see why Charlotte trades him, a former lotto pick, for trash and a pick guaranteed to not be a lotto pick.

Re: Trade Deadline Approaches
Keon isn't trash. That's borderline offensive. CHA has multiple bigs playing ahead of Williams. I'm not saying the should make that deal but calling athletic freaks with upside trash IDK... BB your better than that.

He may not be trash but he’s nothing special. No reason for CHA to consider that deal.

It’s time. It’s time for the Blazers to cash out on Dame while they can still get 3-5 FRPs for him. There’s zero chance of the Blazers being able to put a contender around Dame at this point. Appreciate the loyalty but man… this just isn’t happening over the next few years, so crash out and look towards the future.

That was a bridge too far, but it still doesnt make sense for CHA. They specifically targeted Mark w/ their late lotto pick, trading the other late lotto pick away for future assets. This chain of events show me that they really like Williams.
Lotto picks in their rookie years are almost uniquely traded in moves for needle moving stars, its super rare for teams to scout, like and draft a guy that high only to trade him for a few meh prospects and a FRP that is 100% not going to be in the lotto.
Also, Mark was injured early and is now getting minutes, and producing. He should be getting more but their coach is a total moron.

Yep. We dont have the assets to get a #2. Dame is only getting older. A 35 year old KD just returned an insane haul. As did Gobert. We can reset overnight if we move Lillard. It sucks, but management let him and the fans down since the moment LMA left more-or-less. Its time, there is no other direction.

Re: Trade Deadline Approaches
Delusional blazers are telling teams dame won't go. Maybe that changes by the draft?

If you asked chatgpt how to improve the blazers without trading Dame, I bet it could do a better job than this organization.
In fact I’m curious to try.

Just what we need, another guy who couldn't get minutes on a team who can't shoot.

LOL Hart is 5x the player Thybulle is. Thybulle is so bad offensively he can't get on the court.
Return to Portland Trail Blazers
