Disappointing that #7 not leaving for KD. But Cave is correct - too much other stuff would have had to leave as well.

Let’s pick off a wing from the Nets. They have 53 I think.

Can they legally move DFS or Bridges?

Game against fully healthy Sixers with four starters down reinforced my belief that we have enough depth and contributors (more importantly players who ALREADY KNOW the system and EMBRACE their roles) and that marginal upgrades aren’t worth it IF they play the right way. ;) Either Brad makes a bigger move using FRPs (WCJ, OG, Cam Johnson, etc) or blindly pick a name out of the buyout hat (cos it won’t matter). Grant was great last night against Embiid and kept it simple on offense. Hauser and Blake were hitting shots. Kornet was fantastic as the first big off the bench.

I do think PP + 2nds + TPE is right there to use. I just don’t expect the return to be anything noteworthy.

Guess we’ll just have to trade Jaylen for Embiid, like reload told me. He said to be patient, that it is a matter of time.

I’m not going to pretend I watch a lot of Suns basketball so can someone help me out.

What was that comp to us. Like Smart, Grant and four first rounders?

If so that would have been enticing lololol.

I'm pretty sure Embiid will never win a title as the main guy. He really doesn't seem motivated to win a title. I could see him as the Center version of James Harden.

Yes but there are rules as to how that trade would go down.

Mikal similar Smart, and Cam a fair amount better than Grant. For us, considering we are within division, I’d guess it would have costed Jaylen+another good player+a few picks. I’d have done it, but I get why the Celtics didn’t want to give up a lot more on top of Jaylen.

Nets are likely to want to keep the genuine talent they currently have left because of the draft picks they owe Houston. I wouldn't expect a complete fire sale or anything like that. Crowder maybe they reroute somewhere, but Bridges and Johnson I would think are staying.

Jaylen for Luka once dallas blows up.

4 unprotected firsts is lunacy. Even with Brown we weren’t going to beat a package like that. Shocked that Brooklyn pulled the trigger. KD must have finally threatened to sit out

#7 will be moved this summer for a high quality big.

I don’t mind if he takes his championship ring with him.

Damnnn I called a trade like this in the summer but yup, ultimately you’re right it wasn’t happening without Brown and picks. Tsai wanted his future back from us.

Oh well. He’s the Lakers problems now. And that will make me smile.

I do think Brad has something up his sleeve.

Suns just went “now or bust” and also are bringing in Isiah Thomas to manage whatever comes next?

I respect the team they may be able to put on the floor for the next year or two. Maybe they even get that first-ever championship. But if they don’t … dicey

As long as he is a Celtic, I will root for #7 to do well to help my team win.
Otherwise, ICGAF about him for basketball & off the court reasons.

Perhaps oneal or cam can be nabbed

Brooklyn has Celtics back court level depth at the wing right now.

8 hours left, Brad.

We need another BIG - Rob too fragile, Al too old, Luke variable, Blake deep depth at this point but love his attitude.
We need another WING to give quality minutes & unload JT somewhat.

Nets have an excess of what we want need at the WING.

Poetl to Toronto takes care of that.
Maybe someone currently unemployed.

The nets do have Claxton and wings... but the thing with Claxton is that he can't shoot, so he's probably out.

The answer probably lies elsewhere. Watch Orlando very close today.

The trade JB for a superstar dream is all but officially dead.

Return to Boston Celtics
