I would think at the very least one of Boucher/Thad have to be on the move today, roster is way too unbalanced with nowhere near enough mins for that frontcourt.

FVV/Flynn/Dowtin
GTJ/Banton
OG/Thad/OPJ/RHJ
Pascal/Precious/Juancho
Scottie/Poeltl/Boucher/Koloko

Unless OG and Fred is shipped for a starting PG

OG for Hyland and Bruce Brown
Fred for Devonte Graham and Trey Murphy

Various picks and filler as required. Don't know about starting PG play necessarily, but it would be competent and fills out the wing a bunch, with a bit more shooting.

Moving picks for veterans when we're not even close to contending, now it seems we want young players and picks in return for OG?

Just really confused here.

It’s structuring the roster in a more conventional way. They’ve needed a center forever and likely weren’t going to get Poeltl signed without his bird rights. So that’s a hole they fixed and it’s not like Poeltl is 30+ - his contract extension is going to cover his prime years.

The other piece of this is maximizing value. OG has absolute peak value, so if you move him you’re likely getting a haul of assets back - some of which make up for what we paid for Poeltl. If you move Fred, you avoid a S&T scenario and open up a bigger role for OG.

Change needed to be made, but they were never going to blow it up completely.

Which is what needed to happen bro. Boston did it with their championship roster and now they have Tatum and Brown. Jazz did it and got a huge haul for Gobert and Mitchell. Nets just did it with KD and Kyrie. Why are so opposed to just doing a rebuild?

As for Poeltl...I mean fine I guess. We didn't pay much but if you aren't able to move FVV and Trent, you'll be in the tax having to pay them AND Poeltl now and you're no closer to a chip than you were before.

Additionally, OG needs to go whether or not we move FVV. His value is never going to be higher and while he's excellent at what he does, he's just a 3&D guy. He's amazing as a guy that can put you over the top but he's not a guy that's going to carry the team.

IMO Fred is the least likely to be traded out of OG/GTJ/FVV after choosing to go all in for the play-in spot unfortunately. FO doesn’t care for bottoming out this year and doubling down on its core ugh.

Who here rather have OG than Fred for the sake of Barnes’ development? I don’t care for Play-Ins…

I mean I would cheer for them to succeed but our ceiling is now play-in, very short sighted imo.

Wtf are we doing? Another non shooter, and a commitment to a horrible core after spending 3 pointless years evaluating them. What the actual duck

Why a point guard? We have Scottie for that.

How about OG and FVV for Brandon Ingram?
Who says no?

If the Grizzlies smoke is to be believed...it will be Dillon Brooks and Zaire Williams along with picks for OG.

I would prefer a Shaedon Sharpe, Gary Payton, Justice Winslow's expiring, Drew Eubanks (expiring...and we seem to enjoy bringing back ex-Raptors who used to be Spurs players) and a pick......for OG, Malachi and Juancho.

Mathurin not likely available from Indiana.

Any other Canadians?

I called GTJ and Scottie for Shai awhile back, and I'm going to stick to it.

We want back good prospects for OG at a smaller salary

Just because youre not going all in for a KD like trade doesnt mean you have to be trading assets to tank

I think our interest in Hyland and Eric Gordon tells us the office knows we still lack scoring off the bench and we are in no way done yet.

OG needs to go, not only because he wants out, but he also severely lacks offence to make us a good team along side siakam and Barnes - think ISO, half court, playoff basketball in the clutch

I don't know man. IMO, you really should be doing one or the other because all this route gets you is seasons after seasons of the 16th overall pick. Sitting around hoping and waiting for the next Kawhi deal.

I prefer to have a planned path forward. Either we're moving picks and young guys to help Siakam/Barnes or we're selling guys off for picks and young guys who we can either develop into stars or trade for a star when they become available.

Straddling the fence and wishing upon a star is a fool's errand as far as I'm concerned.

I honestly dont hate it.

My pipedream is FVV + OG + 2023 + 2 more picks for Dame.

The Blazers are done for. Look at the teams in the west. Mavs Suns Clippers Nuggests Grizzlies, Pelicans, hell even the Lakers

Whats the point?

All goes back to that OG for 7th overall trade all over again. Sharpe and someone like GP2 and more picks in return.

Sharpe is a scrub I don't see him panning out. I'd rather get their 24' 1st, along with Atlanta's and the Knick first they just acquired. We could potentially push the Knicks down the standings into the play in and score a lottery pick while making the playoffs.

Isn't Dillon a FA?

I doubt he'll be in the trade even though I like his feistiness.

We are all forgetting about OPJ btw, the guy is friggin solid and is 75%+ of OG when healthy on defence with a better 3pt shot imo.

We'd be crazy to trade OG now, it would make Poeltl pointless. The big thing is to have OGs defense backed by a real C to make it even better. We need to move one guard now to get a younger guard

MLSE rather be a treadmill Play-In/Playoffs team and collect revenue than be a rebuilding team for a few years and missing the playoffs.
