Phoenix is winning the championship. Clippers should call it a day

honestly i might be a pollyanna because i think this team only needs to make a couple personnel moves, and some systematic changes to still be high level contender

but if the rest of this season ends up in a first or second round exit i think the team has to seriously look at blowing it all up. or at least making dramatic changes (around kawhi).

I'm with you, we just need a couple of tweaks, and think we'd be right back in it.... continuity and chemistry is going to be absolute key.

Find a way to get Monte Morris / Spencer Dinwiddie for the one spot.

Find a road to Plumlee/Olynyk or just pick up a waiver Dedmon, and it could be interesting.

The biggest key though is going to be organic, can the team just show grit...even 1/2 of the Shai/Shamet/Bev/Lou squad grit?

Man. Tough night for Clippers. Having to watch other teams load up with super star players or draft capital and we’re talking about Gordon and Westbrook.

Nothing is ever guaranteed, let's relax.

No doubt they put together a solid group.

Kept some important pieces too by not trading Ayton and they still have Payne for CP's injury scare that might come.

...but have to play the games.

Agreed....I mean, people gave Kyrie/Harden/Durant a championship, and look at them now.

Phoenix went for a grand slam without having any depth, the slightest of tweaks to Booker/KD/CP, and they are gonna have a tough time.

Plus, 33ish games or so to build up chemistry may not be enough.

Yea, for them their depth was mostly non existent all season anyways, so they can go with the "not losing much mentality". Their depth sorta improves now since at least Warren will play vs Crowder sitting at home and Johnson out most of the season.

We'll see how Booker's hamstrimg holds up too, those are tricky.

Very interesting to see how the Suns perform. I was joking about a PG for KD trade earlier, but we just don’t have the additional assets for it to be feasible. Wonder how the Clips will respond tomorrow, if at all.

That Woj bomb about Lowry isn’t going to hit the same as Durant.

With our luck the FO is looking at Simmons.

Depending on the cost, Simmons would be a high reward acquisition, since we'd need him for his facilitating and defensively he's stout.

The cost for Simmons should be multiple unprotected first round picks coming from the Nets, if they really want someone to take him off their hands. I just can't understand what people still see in him, especially with that current ridiculously overpaid contract. He's taken a step back on defense, regressed all they way down to the Chinese League on offense, can't even stay healthy.

in theory simmons fits plenty of needs

but there's a lot of drawbacks there, both potential and realized, that make it kinda scary. obviously contract and regression.

that said this team, as constituted, is likely incapable of reaching the highest levels. if the team thinks that simmons can still be at least a positive on defense, and still has the same vision and willingness to pass, i can see it. i mean, acquiring him (theoretically) cleans up some of our needs while reducing some of the redundant and imbalanced outputs that a few of our guys currently provide to us.

Can we find a way to snag DFS and FVV? That would solve a lot of issues, although not sure it makes a difference in the end without a lot of luck.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

What about Bones Hyland? Denver can't be asking for much right? He only makes like two million and he is permanently benched.

I just read on the clippers Facebook page that Ty Lue has been announced as a assistant coach for team USA basketball team in 23-24.

AND , wow….

I woke up randomly at 1:00am to read my ESPN alerts on my phone about Durant being traded.

I went back to sleep and just woke up again at 5:00am.

Suns now have that extra blanket of support. They will be tough to beat.. Ayton Booker and Durant is a nice trio.

I am not counting on CP3.

Let’s all unite today and wait for some news for a Clippers trade ..
