Durant to Suns: Your take?

Gotta be KD: Suns win. You get a shot at an all-timer like Durant with term on his contract, you pay whatever price.

Burning Bridges: Nets win, getting a haul of picks and a young stud in Mykal.

Net Gain: Both teams win. Suns get their star, and Nets start over in a big way.

And just like that the Nets super team is no more!

Suns gonna be sorry, giving up Cam and Bridges with 4 #1 picks for a 34 year old! Yikes.

They are desperate for a title. This is the year to do it

Phoenix still have Ayton and Booker locked up. And two hall of famers around them.

I really love going for it.

How fast can the Nets retool, they get 4 picks from Phoenix, 23,25,27,29 and they have the Mavs 29. They all look to be late #1's but who knows about 5-7 years from now.

The Nets have 3 swaps & 2 picks outstanding with Houston. One of those swaps is this year, and as things look now, it won't execute. If it does execute, that means the Nets fell out of the playoffs and the pick hit the lottery. While they won't get Wemby, they'd be guaranteed a top 5 pick (based on current standings), so I'd welcome that scenario.

The Nets are deep and likely to be a fringe playoff team next year. Starting in 2024, the Nets should have max cap space & anything can happen.

I honestly prefer things this way. I hate rooting for my team to do well, show promise, but still lose a game because it's better for the pick. The Nets can just focus on winning as many games as possible & continue to try and improve.

As crazy as it sounds, I think the Suns need to make one more move.

Their depth is awful after this trade for a team that came into deadline desperate for depth. They are already over the salary cap next year with KD, Booker, Ayton, CP3 and Shamet. Even if they tried to cut cP3 non-guaranteed part of contract they would still be over the cap so no point in doing that anymore this summer.

They probably should trade Saric for legit anyone that can be under contract and help them this year and next.

No doubt, Durant is great player. But is the window closing too soon?

Unfortunately, Saric plus pick swaps aren't overly valuable.

Phoenix seems to own all of their 2nds.

There’s plenty to play with.

Would Phoenix do Shamet+Saric+vet min+a bunch of 2nds for Dougie and Richardson?

If we spending money, then keep it going right?

Really don't see San Antonio biting on that.

This will come down to injury luck and Deandre Ayton’s psyche. Neither aspect is dependable but if both matchup…

I have this as a solid win for PHX. They should be a top tier contender the next couple years barring injury. My first reaction honestly was surprise that Ayton wasn't included, but him having trade veto power may have been a factor.

I've read this ton's of times, about the depth "after the trade", but as you listed, the depth was already an issue.

The Sun's trade 2 x starters and 4 FRP, and a swap...what's missing in that statement is that they traded any depth...the depth was the same, regardless. Should they have traded for depth, and not the future HoF star, to pair with another future HoF star?

Everyone needs to ask themselves, and be honest, which two are most likely to propel the Suns to a ship this year, (and remember, Crowder wasn't playing for the Suns this year, so he doesn't affect the depth).,

So that's Cam Johnson + Mikal Brides--vs--Kevin Durant + TJ Warren (who, btw, has been averaging 20 min since the start of December, with only a game here or there, not played). Now, if you want to ask that question again in 2027, then sure, the results will likely be opposite, but this is a team with ZERO championships, with a roster not largely changed over the past 2 seasons, and that couldn't get it done.

This wasn't the Suns only choice, sure, but now that's done, if you are comparing the Suns' roster from last saturday, to the Suns' roster today, which roster has the better chance of going all the way?
