WOJ BOMB: KD, TJ to Phoenix for Cam Johnson, Bridges, Crowder, 4 1sts + more

Post#201 » by Paradise » Thu Feb 9, 2023 1:50 pm

These emotional takes are worse than losing KD or Kyrie. This board was dead with them on a 12 win streak. Let’s calm down the hot takes of doom and gloom.

This team looks more like what Utah or Indiana is currently doing. This is the same board who was clamoring to deal KD last summer for the same damn package. It played out like expected in a worse case scenario.

We didn’t want Ayton because we didn’t expect Claxton to have a breakout season and Clax is far more cheaper. Nobody wants Ayton.

Crying like we got treated similar to the Cavs with LeBron or KD in OKC is pretty embarrassing. It’s normal to be frustrated and disappointed but it’s not purgatory.

This closes the chapter on what should’ve been at the minimum a finals appearance. I wish KD well.

Pretty awesome haul all things considered. 4 1sts that are pretty far out, Cam Johnson who has 1st round value, and Mikal who could net 2-3 1sts. I think the Nets wanted to give it one last go this season but it's hard to turn down that much value.

You guys got the best deal you could have gotten for a 34 year old disgruntled Durant. It's to bad your team was looking like a contender this season but there was to much bad blood in the organization with Kyrie and KD wanted out since last summer. Those picks from Phoenix are good for your team. You guys still have a deep roster that will be tough for opponents. It's to bad the KD/Kyrie era was a bust but it was a fun ride while it lasted. I wish those guys well with both their new teams. Back to the drawing board for the Nets organization and they still want to win games a fresh start all over is good.

This is basically what should've happened in the summer except Kyrie raised his value enough to get an OK haul and Claxton looks like a future all star.

Glad these guys are gone. Incredible players but the way they tore down the culture here is actually impressive.

Far out? One is this year.

The only reason we didn't get more pick swaps is because we don't have picks in '24 or '26 to swap. Theoretically, we could have requested 3 picks & 4 swaps instead of 4 picks & 1 swap, but I think owning the extra pick is better.

The final piece to ending what the BIG 3 started is to somehow get off the books with that Ben Simmons contract. If they can somehow do that, I'm ready for the setback for this team. We have seen a lot worse than this. I'd rather go back to the good times when there was no to little drama, back when Kenny was developing players and the organization was building something, or so it seemed prior to KD, Kyrie, and James coming to town.

Sucks because the Celtics and the Bucks have the easiest road to get to the finals from the East. That's on thing I didn't want to see. I trust Jacque will get these players ready. Got some youth back on the roster. Spencer, DFS, Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and some picks for a 35 year old who has played how many games since his achilles injury, and a player that is all about himself in Kyrie. Sucks to lose them yes, but the team just got a lot younger with trading away KAI & KD. Cheers to less drama and more wins watching the new young & the restless Nets. I think we are going to love Mikal and Cam & Cam and DFS, we already know what Spencer can do, and still have Clax. Chins up y'all. The future is bright, the team is Gucci.

sunsbum wrote:Well, congrats guys....we are pretty torn over on the suns board. Ya'll got hands down pretty much one of Phoenix's all time favorite players in Mikal after just 4 years. Prepare to fall in love. Of course the other twin is a great player and a good person as well, you just have to worry about his ability to stay healthy but hes a game changer when he is. Good luck, we will be watching with tears of joy in our eyes.

dude... you guys got Kevin Durant. There is nothing to be sad about. Don't think twice about it. You got an ALL TIME GREAT player. Not a good player, not a great player... and ALL TIMER. Enjoy it. AND TJ Warren was just thrown into it too.

You guys "won" the deal by an absolute mile.

Our franchise will never, ever have another player on the level of Kevin Durant ever again. We'll be lucky to be a playoff team in the next few years, maybe win play in tournament game or two. We're going the way of the OKC Thunder.

If he just takes the vaccine I think we run away with the Championship in 2022. Then this season if he just shut up and played out his contract we had a very good chance of winning as well.

Guy is just selfish. He think the whole world revolves around him. We should allow him to take in season breaks. We should just support him not being vaccinated. We should just let him post anti-semetic thing. We should then give him 200 mill guaranteed on top of that.

Why would you inject yourself poison if you don't have to? Is he a guinea pig?

Oh here we go with the Alex Jones bull.

it's amazing how many clowns are still out there peddling that bull.

I'm fine with trading KD, it practically had to be done, it's what we received in return that makes us a joke.

I mean seriously, we couldn't have at least demanded Ayton, OR NO DEAL?

You think the Suns would have left KD on the table for Ayton if given an ultimatum?

I don't ... no way.

Why would you want Ayton, who makes 33 million a season all the way til 2026? Especially when we have Nic Claxton here

We are in great shape right now.

I didn't really want Ayton either. Him and Clax is redundant and on our new timeline I'd rather have Clax who is also way cheaper.

yeah, I don't share the negative sentiment on here. These guys were pure cancer from the moment they got here.

4 years, one playoff victory. When you take a step back, why are we crying about moving on from them? Every season was a disaster in some shape or form.

We have a ton of draft capital now. This was the best case scenario when you consider how low KD and Kyrie's value was during the summer.

Do y'all remember that Kevin and Kyrie got swept? THEY GOT SWEPT!!!!

It's time to move on and while the team no longer employs a big name like Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving - they have some young hoppers on deck, and I know Jacque will get the best out of them. I don't think Sean Marks is finished working either.

I'm not shocked at all by this trade. Looking at KD's body language and how quiet he was. Add to the fact that he mentioned last summer that he wanted trade because this is not what he envisioned when he joined the team (via Kyrie's insistence).

I've always felt that once Cobra Kai (yes, he's a snake too) was traded, he will ask out. KD has never been a bus driver, after his OKC stint. So, I don't see any way for him to carry this team w/o his BFF.

As for the trade, I'm quite pleased with it. We've gone from having unlikeable superstars to hardworking and talented up and coming nice guys. This current lineup reminds me of the fun 2019 team that we had. While it's disappointing thay we're no longer a contender, I feel that it's a team still worth rooting for.

As a longtime Nets fan, I will not stop supporting this team. Our current situation may not be ideal, but it's miles better than the Billy King debacle.

I still hold on to that hope that we at least win a chip in this lifetime. Cheer up, guys! This is a new beginning for us Nets fans!
