Some people suggested Mavs will need to play with 2 balls but it's nice to see Kyrie playing at SG works out just fine.

McGee looked great.

This team looks much better out of the blue the last two games. And it was if McGee had his hair on fire yesterday, some great effort plays.

I don't get why Wood is "mistreated". It's difficult to play if your name is always in rumours and your minutes erratic. He had some good plays on defense. Hopefully he gets back to being efficient on offense.

(if he's not traded away)

Wood might be on a minute restriction or similar coming back from the broken thumb. I'll wait another week or so before I form an opinion on that.

Yeah and its clear that the thumb is affecting his shooting stroke. Wood is a amazing spot up shooter and hasn't the last 2 games. His arch is normally a high rainbow. Right now its flat.

Yeah exactly, I think I posted exactly this at some point during the game here too.

Wood is at worst a 16-8 a night guy. He hasn't regressed to 6-6 its just a myriad of factors, injury, minutes, trade talks, Dwight Powell and McGee both stepping up, he still played most of the 4th in a close game.

I like Wood but at the PO is an unknown... It's risky...

McGee and Powell for 10 minutes are good. Nothing more.

Maxi is the best big on the team when he comes back by a far margin. Especially if we have to guard guys like Jokic, KD, Kawhi, and Sabonis for 7 games. But with Maxi's body he can't play 36 minutes for 30 games so we are going to need quality minutes from Dwight, McGee, and Wood if no one gets moved before the deadline. Dwight has the hustle, Wood has the offense, and McGee was great in the help side defense last night.

Pretty much this. 4 very different bigs.
Maxi:
+ great D, can handle smaller players and true centers
+ streaky from 3
+ decent rebounder
+ good shotblocker
- can't create offense for himself
- can get super cold from 3

Powell:
+ hustle
+ 70%+ around the basket
+ energy and decent defense
- can't shoot or block shots

Wood:
+ Athleticism
+ can actually create offense
+ shooting
+ shot blocking and decent rebounding
- gets lost on defense

McGee
+ Rim rolling and around the basket high percentage finisher
+ good rebounder and best shot blocker
- can't create any offense
- Shaqtin MVP

Damn, you're trying to trade him too hard if you're pitching this as a positive.

Details, you know  but yeah that's kind of the thing that keeps him from being a stud PF/C.

But I'm sure thats just a typo. I know everybody keeps saying "unknown in the playoffs". But I actually think going to the playoffs would help on this issue.

And I know "you shouldn't need extra motivation" but lets bffr for a bit. It's easy to stay focused on defense when you're in the playoffs on a team that has title aspirations.

This is a very good video breaking down how Kyrie raises the team's ceiling. Even down to play calling and reading defenses, you can hear him call out the Clippers' D and where to position clueless guys like Powell. Since you got a team full of role players, you gotta spoon feed these guys on what to do. But luckily for them they now have Luka and Kyrie doing that.
