As European I am impressed how ridiculously this sound. It's like saying: "we fough a nazis and lost a lot of heroes defending that right so he can be nazi as much as he want". Do you see the irony here?
And don't get me wrong, I don't give a sh... about Kyrie and his personal dramas, I am here because I love basketball, it just impress me all the stupidity people say and how their brain capacity don't distinct between freedom of speech and hate speech. And no, that's not even remotely the same.
But there's more. Even I, as non-american know what your constitution says and what freedom of speech is, while by my observation many americans, including you, obviously don't which is somewhat embarrassing, don't you think?
Let me help you in most simple manner and then I am out of this thread:
Stay in Europe.
Your definition of free speech: you better not say anything I disagree with or I will publish your address and where your children go to school. I will send the mob to demand banks cancel your accounts, protest outside of your home, and demand your firing. if your kid gets killed by a crazy person… well speech has consequences and it certainly isn’t my fault. The government can’t do anything about what you say but they can influence private multi-national monopolies and dualopolies to impose their will on ‘wrong-think’.
People like you merely want revenge, not justice. And someday the mob will likely come for you too as it will for all of us. Wonder what you’ll say then? Darn those consequences huh?
Mob rule sure is great. We may as well bring back lynchings while we’re at it. Don’t want to get strung up from a tree by an angry mob? Shouldn’t have posted a link to that video on Amazon that Jeff Bezos is still making money off of. It’s okay because it wasn’t the government that punished them and speech has consequences.
