I saw Nets fans proposed lineup and they had

Spencer Dinwiddie / Seth Curry/Patty Mills
Cam Thomas/ Joe Harris
Mikal Bridges / Royce O'Neale
Dorian Finney-Smith / Cam Johnson / Yuta Watanabe
Nic Claxton / Ben Simmons / Day'Ron Sharpe

They definitely should trade Crowder for a 2 guard if they can. Maybe some others.

To me just need a Bridges level defender, they're out there - Dort, Anunoby, Thybulle, J.Green are my shortlist.

There are really not many Bridges level defenders. He was 2nd in DPOY voting.

We really don't have any trade assets that would bring in a guy. You want him to shoot too.

Craig can be a solid defender and can hit the 3 unlike a guy like Dort/Thybulle. Who do you think we could possibly trade for OG? Ayton would have possibly been someone but they got Poeltl so no need for them.

We have Okogie who I think is a better defender than Craig but you're right, the move might be to trade Ayton for depth and defense. At least the Suns think that. We do need defense

Booker was listed OUT today, due to B2B, with the trade, any chance he has to play today and rest Friday now?

No. We NEED Booker to stay healthy. Take as much time as you need.

I was thinking I feel a bit like I did with the Shaq trade.

A couple things though.

KD is quite a bit better than Shaq was then.

But of course we gave up way more Mikal and Cam are a lot younger than Marion was and we didn't give up picks and now we gave up 5. I imagine that Brooklyn swap in 28 will be swapped. We would get their pick though. But those 27 and 29 picks hurt. I imagine the 28 swap has no protections as well.

So are lottery chances. One injury to a star and we are likely a lottery team. Two injuries to Book/KD/CP3 and we definitely are.

Suns are obviously building around Booker and Ayton.
I think we can stop saying we will trade Ayton now. He’s the future with Booker when CP and KD are gone.

Jae Crowder would’ve been great as the starting 3/4 next to KD. LOL. Would’ve had another free ride to the finals. But he chose to be in his feelings. SMH

darmani wrote:All of you guys complaining about our depth are massively overreacting. We traded 2 wings for 2 wings. (Yes, I know Warren is always hurt, but so is Cam Johnson). Even with all the injuries the Suns had this season, we still lead the league in NetRtg by bench players this year and are in the top-10 in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, 3PMs, 3P% and FTAs off the bench. We don't have a real 6th man, but our bench is doing OK and it won't change after the trade. In the playoffs you need just 8 reliable guys, and we still have some 2nd rounders to trade today + the taxpayer MLE and 2 open roster spots to use on the buyout market.

Depth concerns is future depth and current depth with KD out along with the backup guards.

James Jones better not trade Deandre Ayton. Ayton should feast on this team. We can revisit it in the offseason. Really looking forward to watching him with Book and KD.

Good points. This is even a bigger boom or bust scenario. Although, I wonder with a new charismatic owner, if being a free agency destination is the plan. In that case, drafts might not mean as much.

I don't see CP3 going out now. I actually think we now keep him until 26...no real avenue to add other pieces if we waive people.

I could see Ayton for a couple players. Raps don't need him though now. Not sure who else unless SA...but they don't have a C to send back. Detroit? Hayes, Bojan and Stewart?

That's probably not good enough unless we could pry a pick or two.

Still wouldn't want to do it though. The only other one is Charlotte but Rozier and Plumlee, while decent, not enough. With picks, better but still rather keep Ayton.

I really do wonder what their thoughts are on Ayton.

I cannot imagine that Brooklyn getting these 2nds for Crowder was the deal breaker for them moving KD. Sucks to mismanage that asset this way, five 2nds is not nothing in the marketplace currently. Could've gotten McDaniels with them it looks like.

Thybulle would've been as a 1st team all defensive selection though ...right?? But we unfortunately didn't have the proper interest/ assets to send back to Charlotte so Philly could get Mcdaniels?

This is more like the Barkley trade.

Shaq was having a bad season and couldn't defend a chair...but he was Shaq.

KD is playing exactly like prime KD. Great players have longer careers now.

Anyone see the reports that Bridges might get moved? If the Grizzlies get Bridges I’m going to throw up.

Yeah there's risk involved. There was risk involved of not making a move and fading into treadmill mediocrity. Sometimes you have to take chances in life to reach your goals.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Maybe to Detroit for Noel/ Burks/ Diallo/ (good defender)/ draft asset??
** I believe both Noel and Diallo both spent time in OKC with Paul too?? :dontknow:
