The Magic got a 2nd rounder in the deal and will buyout Bev.

Bev is just a salary match. Nothing more. Orlando simply punting a guy they don't want anymore.

Am I in the minority when it comes to really hoping we keep Pat Bev?

No issues with this deal. At the absolute worst, we clear some money (I think? Can't remember the specifics of Bamba's contract) and pick up a second round pick for a guy who is our third-best center.

Would like the details on the 2nd round pick that we got, with Crowder netting 5 I expected at least two for Bamba. Oh well.

I was just offering my own personal opinion. I don't have any inside knowledge of the Sixers' wants. It's just wild the other 28 teams didn't make a better offer.

Magic actually took on a tiny bit of money.

Bev makes 13M and Bamba makes 10.3M.

Bev is expiring and Bamba is fully non-guaranteed for next year at 10.3M

Disappointing end to the Bamba-Orlando era. The writing was on the wall for Bamba so long ago. Talk about a depreciating asset

For Bamba’s sake.. not sure he could have asked for a better situation. LeGM has been having a nice trade deadline

Kinda surprised it was for Beverly, if he’s getting waived then this truly was just a salary dump on a guy who was outplayed by every big on the roster. Wagner outplayed him plus JI being back necessitated this move. The fist fight probably sealed his fate here too.

Odd trade but I guess no one wanted him and the Magic just took a trade to dump him. We do need another C now.

Looks like a **** trade (for us) on face value, but at least it clears up some more cap space this summer. Bamba had a year left after this season. Waiting for more info on the pick, but surely someone out there could've given more for Bamba, when you look at what for example Crowder was worth.

Other than that, not a huge fan of Utah, Minnesota and now Orlando making the Lakers stronger, at all. Even though you could argue Beverley adds more to winning than Bamba, even now. But the Lakers needed a big after dumping Bryant (which was weird on their part).

Drafting him made little sense.
He never wanted to play for Magic, hence never even did workout for them.

He would probably left last summer if he could got any other offer.

It's just horrendus usage of high lottery pick. Apsolutley set to fail from start ( and i get similar vibes from Suggs and how he has been handled over year and half ). There just seems to be zero plans or logic behind addition(s)

Bambas contract was not guaranteed next year. So we could've just let him go next year. I don't really see the point of this but whatever. Doesn't hurt our cap flexibility. Good luck to Mo. I think he'll be a solid backup
