Biggest winners/losers of 2023 trade deadline?

Post#1 » by Drygon » Thu Feb 9, 2023 8:02 pm

There were multiple trades with a bunch of 2nd rounders which were a new currency. No blockbuster deals after the KD deal, but several role players moving around. Which teams came out the winners and which teams messed it up?

Also which teams played it wrong by not making moves at all?

Winner: Shams
Loser: Woj

Shams had the early run but Woj got a few in late. Shams overall took the W with more big names.

I thought Utah was a loser. They traded Conley, a 2nd, Beasley, and Vanderbilt and only got one first back along with Westbrook. Detroit also kind of lost by not trading Bojan for anything.

I have the Nets as the clear winners. I thought they did extremely well in the Kyrie trade. The KD trade was amazing for them as well. Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, four unprotected firsts & an unprotected swap? That's an insane haul.

Winners: Suns, Warriors, and Lakers. All 3 made big upgrades to their teams that materially affected their equity.

Losers: Uh, Hornets for sure. Not sure who else yet.

Losers: 2nd rounders

Poor 2nd rounders getting passed around like a ten cent bleep.

Winners Suns, mavericks , Clippers , lakers getting rid of the trash is win my book . Except Thomas of course .
Losers heat did nothing where they needed to make several moves . Nets of course losing 2 stars in media frenzy .

Mavs big loser. We wanted a follow up trade after the Kyrie deal.
