dreadful if true but also i agree

Well, I believe MartinToVaught is a Westbrook fan, so at least one fan will be happy.

I'm dreading those general board Westbrook fans coming along for the ride if this happens though.

Said this yesterday. Not sure why people are upset over Luke. He doesn't shoot the ball, and he isn't gonna be in the playoff rotation. Gordon could start.

Gordon is an upgrade.

Yep. Said it recently too.. Gordon is an upgrade over this year's Kennard. I doubt Kennard plays at all with Memphis in the playoffs.

The reshuffling of the guards was sorta weird, but necessary to get Plumlee. We ended up with a group more or less equal in quality as before, but got Plumlee with it. And bought low on Bones, let's see if he can turn it around with us. He's very cost-controlled for the next 3 years.

It looks small compared to the big splash moves in the West, but was a logical package IMO- especially if we can sign Bev or Westbrook.

Even I don't like the fit here. At very least, Russ should understand that this is probably his last chance in the NBA, and if he can't rein in some of his bad habits here, nobody else is ever going to want to sign him.

For what it's worth, Raptors fans can't stand FVV, really wanted him moved today and are dreading his next contract. So there's that.

Where does EJ play? We already have a 6th man in Powell.

Lol yep

as much as i was critical of reggie this year i will forever be grateful for his many heroics, especially in the playoffs. i actually WILL miss him and i hope he keeps his joy for the game.

Me too, I enjoyed his game over the long haul and had some nice games this year for sure. He'll always be in Clipper lore.

Meanwhile, we're still stuck with Reggie and Morris, no point guard and no backup center, while making the Grizzlies better. Make it make sense.

The Grizzlies aren't better with Kennard. He will be firmly planted on the bench in the playoffs. I would have used him in a different deal, but the guy wasn't going to be on the floor come playoff time.

Agreed.

Glad that Mann was kept and the pick.. over FVV at this point.

Man did GSW crap the bed with that Wiseman pick. That was their chance to set the foundation for their post-Steph years.

For sure.

Powell starts at off guard, EJ backs him up. I'm actually pretty good with that one.

The Clippers got good value for Reggie. I said a week or two ago, the Clips were not going to re-sign him next year and if I'm Reggie, I request a trade so I can get a jump on starting over somewhere else. Plumlee is a FA too and may have said the same thing.

The Clips filled their hole at the 5 and now have zero point guards. Whatever.

yeah it's kinda weird and i think we still have too many players.

let's say we keep the starters the same: zu/morris/kawhi/pg/mann

bench lineup? presumably plumlee/batum/powell/gordon/hyland ?

cause i assume lue still hates covington's guts despite the fact that he's a lot more useful than morris when he gets past 20 minutes. and that's not even counting a potential beverley or westbrook pickup. so if the above bench lineup is the one, i guess we're doing that 3-guard lineup thing again which has routinely tanked our team all season.

not that i expect it to happen (despite powell with those guys being one of the better lineups i've seen all season) but if we swapped morris for batum and powell for mann, the starters are better on offense and defense, but the bench looks way more balanced as well. like, i'm ok with a plumlee/morris/mann/gordon/hyland lineup (again, assuming covington's gonna rot for eternity) because we're not so minimized in the backcourt.

guess we'll see.

thats pretty bad deal for us

Win the NBA Championship and it makes no difference.

What you've done isn't putting you into the Finals. Wish Luck to Bones but I'll bet he gets about the same mins in LAC that he did in DEN, so he'll have the same issues there as he did here IMO.

PBev very likely to get bought out by Orlando. However, I think he will have several suitors with Dallas being #1 and Memphis #2.

in regards to wiseman/warriors etc.

i was actually quietly holding my breath wiseman would never amount to anything because it would haven't been hard for the warriors to just keep trucking along with talented youth. imagine if they had decided to go after ball instead? now it looks like they're middle of the pack and need just as much help as we do.

of course we still have to create our own destiny, and it's much harder with the suns making such a big leap, and of i assume luke is gonna be a contributor for memphis. but i guess not having to worry about THE team of the last decade with a shiny new superstar to keep them afloat and transition them past the curry years is a good thing to cross off.

My wish list was Monte Morris and Plumlee. Monte Morris I knew was unlikely, happy to get one of the two. Not sure how well Bones Hyland and EJ are gonna fit in, guess only time will tell. Good luck to Reggie and Kennard, both had great moments during their time here. Kennard will be a better fit for teams with more ball movements.

are you saying powell starts at the two meaning pg is actually the new full time "1" and mann to the bench? frightful if so lol

but if you mean morris goes to the bench then i'm all for it
