According to him he can. He mentioned he was glad to be traded because it will give him a chance to play more.

I think you might be surprised how much he plays.

Who is he replacing? He looks completely washed now. He would be solid if this was a couple of season ago.

Playing for a contract so let's throw some minutes at him.

Considering he’s one of the few front court players we have that actually play defense I don’t see the harm.

Would be icing on the cake. But you'd have to think his last few stops of not getting playing time are for a reason

Yea I’m not expecting much at all from him. If anything I hope he can just be a goon off the bench. If KD or someone like that is getting hot hopefully Morris can be a cooler. Someone the Mavs can send in the game and foul the **** out of him. Get under his skin and get him out of his rhythm.

Yes some dirty plays is probably the max we can expect by him.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Dallas made out like bandits with the Kyrie trade considering other players went for 3, 4 or 5 draft picks.

Nets probably were not expecting a KD trade. Had they were, they could have taken more value for Kyrie like draft picks (which would help their rebuilding) rather than Dinwiddie and DFS who are both 30 and not really fit for a rebuilding team. Tsai could have easily asked the Mavs to include the 2027 FRP in that case but wasn't able to now that the dust has settled.

Yes, the deal was extremely good even if we consider all problems Kyrie might bring. 4 picks for Bridges and 3 for OG wasn't enough? Wtf?

From 0-7 to 3-0 without Luka... Not bad

If Kyrie wasn't such a headcase, the price would have been significantly higher.

He wouldn't even have been traded, he been on a multi-year max and still in Brooklyn.

That being said, I kind of like it for Dallas. Defense will of course be a huge issue, but scoring points, and reducing Luka's load will be huge pluses.

Our next FRP needs to be for a center and one that is big and mobile enough to defend.

Probably against Wembyana who by then will be killing teams.

Mcgee seems to respond better to Kyrie than Luka.

He literally came back from the dead.

Agree, probably he is physically better than weeks ago.

Luka-Powell and Kyrie-McGee are the pnr better combo

Jalen Rose said it best on EPSN. Kyrie - Luka is modern day Earl Monroe - Walt Frazier right there.

People were saying there was no way Monroe - Frazier could play together. We all know how that went.

Man, if these two got their version of Willis Reed, they'd be so good.

Yeah, definitely need to address the center spot.
Love what McGee has provided lately, but he seems to be in that WCS/Noel mold of Mavs centers who have very little interest in basketball and only play when they want.
Also, Maxi is aging and there is no telling whether he will ever fully get back to what he was before the injury.
And Powell is Powell so yeah, we definitely need to upgrade that position asap.

Wish they could have moved Powell and THJ for a center upgrade somehow.

Morris is good insurance for a big 4/small 5 in case Maxi goes down.
He can at least guard smaller centers and all PFs and can thug it up a bit if the situation is needed.
