Welcome Jalen McDaniels!

Post#1 » by Embiid P » Thu Feb 9, 2023 8:33 pm

Just traded one wing for another taller one. He might not quite be the defensive player that Thybulle is but he is better offensively though that is a fairly low bar.

I have no idea how good he is but happy to finally have a long, athletic wing.

I will not be welcoming him since he's not Kevin Durant. Maxey, Tobias and five 2nd rounders would have done it, Morey.

I loved McDaniels coming out of college. Thought he was good enough to be a late lottery pick, though he was always projected to be a 2nd rounder. I think the 76ers bought low and got a player with upside.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

We got a worse player than Thybustle in exchange for Thybustle!

Jaden has the team option and is way more of an offensive threat then Thybulle will ever be. Positive defender with good athleticism. 6’9”

In theory it’s a great trade well see how it pans out.

Wait just realised it was Jalen not Jaden. Welp bit of nothing trade then as its an expiring too.

I’ve been hoping for this trade since the summer. A solid move at the margins and should be a much more reliable wing than Matisse.

Continues the tradition of Philadelphia teams getting the wrong brother.

I don't like the deal, but I'll give Morey the benefit of the doubt on this guy I guess.

BTW does Philly EVER get the better brother?

Vince instead of Joe DiMaggio
Jeremy instead of Jason Giambi
Mike instead of Greg Maddux
Casey instead of Clay Matthews
Seth instead of Steph Curry

Now Jalen instead of Jaden McDaniels lol.

If they actually play him. I like it.

I do agree that it's a Buy low situation. This guy could be as valuable to this club as Melton. His length also makes it easier to pair with PJ and playing small ball defensively.

The question becomes are they willing to pay to keep him? Shouldn't be a ton... but it's not going to be a Korkmaz deal either.

Westbrook? Jrue for a bit.

Kelce might be a HOFer, but still the worse brother somehow lol

Yeah I thought about it, but there's a credible argument that Jason is better. And even if he's not, he doesn't belong on this list lol.

I wouldn't say that he is worse than his brother. He just doesn't get nearly the same media coverage because he plays the less sexy position.

I'm not going to argue too much. Obviously Jason is on par, but my thinking is Travis is top 4 numbers wise at his position. And if he plays the same number of seasons as the top 3, he should end up number one on the list. Not sure if Jason can be considered the best center of all time, but then again I'm not even sure how you quantify that.

Gonna watch some Jalen McDaniels highlights. It's the only hope I have right now. To be fair, he is one of the players I was hoping we would go after, so that's a win in my book.
