I know Westbrook was kind of toxic with the Lakers. But I think that is mostly because he is playing for the Lakers... with Lebron James, and Anthony Davis. The Lakers didn't do Westbrook any favors by giving them a poopoo platter of teammates. I don't think Westbrook was a good fit, nor do I feel he really wanted to be thrusted into the spotlight like that. The constant negativity from the media and reporters was getting to him. I saw someone who interviewed Russ recently and was nice and sincere to him about certain plays he was doing, and Russ was really happy with that interviewer, instead of interviewers who are trying to illicit him saying negative.
With all that said... I don't think Russ is our answer, nor does he want to come off the bench. I think he goes to Clippers, or Heat where he can have a more active role and probably even start.
