It's like waking up one morning and realising your partner isn't next to you anymore and then in your half awoken state you try and figure out why. Then you realise what happened and it dawns on you that that part of your life is now in the past.

But then you also have this hot new thing in your bed :dontknow:

Maybe Westbrick goes back to the Lakers with a veteran minimum. :banghead:

Interesting. Bobby Marks said that players who get bought out and sign with another team are essentially labeling themselves as minimum players for the rest of their career. He thinks Reggie Jackson could easily get bought out and then sit until free agency to avoid that label.

Not saying Westbrook was good but I thought he got a really bad wrap for LA's dumb decision to bring him to a team that just didn't fit on paper or in practice. Given how weak our bench is, I would certainly be open to bringing him in to lead the bench unit.

I know Westbrook was kind of toxic with the Lakers. But I think that is mostly because he is playing for the Lakers... with Lebron James, and Anthony Davis. The Lakers didn't do Westbrook any favors by giving them a poopoo platter of teammates. I don't think Westbrook was a good fit, nor do I feel he really wanted to be thrusted into the spotlight like that. The constant negativity from the media and reporters was getting to him. I saw someone who interviewed Russ recently and was nice and sincere to him about certain plays he was doing, and Russ was really happy with that interviewer, instead of interviewers who are trying to illicit him saying negative.

With all that said... I don't think Russ is our answer, nor does he want to come off the bench. I think he goes to Clippers, or Heat where he can have a more active role and probably even start.

Sad

After leaving a job I had for about 6yrs that I didn't really care about but did enjoy the working relationships, I did get a bit emotional at my farewell. Basketball is much much deeper so I can only imagine what the locker room feels like...

This is absolutely a guy to watch for the suns in tbe buy out market.

Sent from my SM-G986U using RealGM mobile app

Hasn't dude been out like all season?

I think he just recently started playing again. I remember seeing Windhorst or someone had him on ESPN with other people and discussing how the Grizzlies would be able to use Danny Green and his contract to get better. It felt strange with Green right there

according to windhorst:
"There were tears this morning when [the Suns] got together this morning in the hotel. They canceled their morning walkthrough and got together and had a good cry. Nobody was ready for this."

Anyway, bro said he was the only one in the ESPN (who watches those losers still) panel that picked us to win. Found it interesting because I thought about his departure but I could be confusing him for someone else

IIRC Carter didn't have any problem with the Suns.

Yeah I don't recall. I just remember him not giving any effort in the triple OT loss to the Lakers. That game got me mad.

The did virtually nothing for Westbrook to help him succeed. They didn't really bring in the 3&D guys they needed. They tried this experiment of putting AD/Lebron/WB together which made no sense. ANd obviously playing under the bright lights of LA just put everything under a microscope. I felt bad for Westbrook because I thought he was good in Washington but it was just a horrible fit in LA and the LA media didn't help one bit.

Gotta give it to JJ, I mean he knew the ramifications of trading Mikal, he knows how much we all love him and what he brought to the Valley. I honestly still don't know if I would have personally pulled the trigger on that trade. But I run off of emotions rather than logic 70% of the time.

I would've been too chicken to do it. For JJ, this is his job on the line. It doesn't net a championship by the end of the 23/24 season. He's gone IMO. and rightly so

If the goal is to just have a fun team, you keep Bridges and Cam Johnson. But if the ultimate goal is to win a championship, you absolutely do what you can to trade for Kevin Durant. It sucks but it is what it is.

I mentioned earlier, the Suns could have kept them, hope to win with the nice guys, but that could backfire if and when Booker asks to be traded.
