Through 4 games

Per 36: 22/11/3 with 6 steals and 0 blocks
the last 2 numbers are crazy. 6 steals per 36....but no blocks

Is this anything?

It's fuel to the desire to see this man playing 28-30 mins per night!

That stat-line by itself is insane.

no. when you are playing limited minutes, the stats can look very good. im optimistic for him, but reading way to much into that.

2 plays that stood out for me last game

Last play highlights why he is really good on defense. The ability to switch and recover and bother. To think this is just his 3rd game after not playing 892 games professionally.

Isaac just needs to stay healthy.

Those were my favorite possessions too, really nice defense. I posted in the game thread some thoughts about JI this early too.

I'm curious, where do we think he fits in our long-term plans? Starter with Franz and Paolo? Bench? Off the team?

He is an "if healthy" player you keep. He can make the 3 ball, play high tier defense, at the least he deserves a spot as 6th or 7th man.

The question will be the "if healthy part". If he can't stay healthy then I don't think it matters "off the team" or not.

I would play him at Center. He's a better defender than Carter Jr. WCj can be the 6th man. He's paid like one anyways. Banchero is still developing, but let's be real. He's no interior defender. Perimeter wise, he's great. Love him for that. But the ideal pairing with Paolo is with a Center who can provide defense in the interior. JI can be that. He still has his quickness.

I’d love to see that, but no way he survives playing against Embiid, Jokic or the other power bigs.

Its like taking away something elite from Isaac, his ability to guard the perimeter.

Isaac is at the end of the day still a weakside defender at the post.

True in a ways. WCj isn't any kind of stopper against them either.

There's a lot of bigs that hang on the perimeter for Isaac to use his talents. He's simply a good big man defender inside and out.
