Love getting him back. Just a bad timing because we're trying to tank. Not that he really moves the needle, but he increases our chances of winning games compared to having Birch.

I feel that most of this team's problems stemmed from not having a real starting center, so now there's no more excuses.

He's one of the best offensive rebounders in the league.
One of the best defensive bigs in the league.
Some coaches (e.g. Mike Malone) believe he's the most underrated player in the league.

And the best part...
He's shooting 70% from the FT line in his last 24 games.

Ive wanted one of Poetle / Turner on this team for 2 years now, so glad it finally happened. He’s still young… finishes at the rim well.. boards.. has good passing from the high post / top of key… has good speed.. can manage perimeter defence on switches (albeit not great).. a lot to like. Has some flaws for sure (No 3, bad FT, not the greatest rim protector).. but he’s definitely a nice piece to have.

Our big / forward rotation looks solid for the next 3 years (Poetle / Siakam / Barnes / Precious) .. Koloko likely finds his way into that mix too.

I really like this move. I've praying for Poeltl all year. Give these boys a real chance with a proper big. Pascal, Fred, and Poeltl (bench mob) reunited. OG, Barnes, and Trent are elite elite players. Everybody wanted our guys remember? Now our team makes sense and we have a credible top 8 line-up. Our wings won't have to guard 250 pound centres, then run out to contest the 3 constantly and get exhausted. I think morale is going to be great here. Hoping for a strong run and catch 6th place. Let's go!

Should lower the starter mins now too which is good. Were basically adding 30-34 mpg for Birchs 0 mpg so that should balance the rotation a bit more as well.

Jakob Poeltl was one of my favorite prospects when he got here, and now he has developed into a solid C. Seeing him with Pascal getting that chemistry on court will be fun.

My suggestion for game-ops: Every time there is a "Poeltl Jam" they play "Evenflow" by Pearl Jam. We need this if the Raps are going retro.

Glad to have him back. I wish we made the move for him earlier. Yak has turned into a really good player. Great defender at the most important defensive position and a nice offensive player despite the lack of a J. I think a lot people who didn't follow him in SA will be surprised at what he can do on offense.

He only plays 26 minutes a game lol. We'll probably see Siakam more at the 3.

I'd say he'd play max 30 minutes a game and probably sit much of the late 4th depending on match up.

I mean we didn't give up anyone playing for him.

It's fair for Masai to give this core a chance. They showed something last season, and most of their problems where attributed to not having a starting center.

Masai has shown he's not scared to pull the trigger to kick start something (Demar trade). We have so many pieces other teams covet, why not give this core a chance? I'm personally excited that we got Jakob back. It will be interesting to see if he still has that chemistry with Pascal.

I'm hoping a watchable brand of basketball ensues. We have the talent if only Fred could manage the distribution. Hopefully it's not against Fred's religion to pass to Jak who's a decent roller. Not getting my hopes up, though. DHO to iso has killed the spark on this team, and I blame that on a culture of fear of turning over the ball. We'd be an awesome team with peak Lowry. Hoping for Barnes Poeltl chemistry...
