He's also old as ****. I like Conley, he's a good player, one of those - best players ever that never became an All Star

Conley was an all-star more recently than Russell

Oh snap! That's awesome, happy for him. I thought he deserved it when he was on the Grizzles

Dlo at times played some of the laziest and most selfish basketball I’ve ever seen. He did have talent and could be clutch but I’m not exactly broken up to see him go.

For whatever it's worth, ESPN+ gave Wolves a B- on the Russell trade for all the positive rationales that were already discussed in this thread. Their criticism is Conley is not a long term solution and don't see a solution for getting a second guard to go with Ant. Interestingly, they gave Dallas a big D for the Kyrie trade.

When his shot was falling, we could all look past the defensive deficiencies and turnovers, but my goodness when his shot was off, there was nothing he could fall back on to contribute to the game.

Looking at the 30,000 ft view, to get Conley for a year and 3 2nd rounders, when you would have had nothing, is a plus.

If the locker room reporting from yesterday is true, then that brings me from being 90% in favor of the trade to 99%.

With all the reports coming out about D'Lo, I highly doubt he'll sign an extension for less of what he's making right now and he'll definitely not accept a 6th man role. This trade is definitely a plus! Get rid your pseudo starting PG that pouts and has an inflated sense of ego, put in a real professional kind of guy that fits better, let's see Finch's offense hum to 140 PPG!

You don't think LeBron will whip them into shape better than KAT and Ant did?

The man has arguably one of the highest BBIQs in the game maybe behind CP3. If you don't think he could utilize them better I'm guessing you've never played with a good floor general.

Lebron has never been good at making his teammates look better. Pat Bev, Kevin Love, D Wade, Jae Crowder, Chris Bosh, Derrick Rose. The only guys that have ever been better next to Lebron are guys that just stand still watching him then shoot when he passes to them. Matt Bonner would have been a great Lebron teammate.

- I'm paraphrasing here, but he said that Dlo openly talked **** about Gobert in front of teammates and other teams and coaches, sometimes even on the floor. He said that Dlo wore his dislike of Gobert "on his sleeve".

- He also said that Dlo did not want to throw lobs to Gobert and had little interest in working with him.

- Several times media came into the locker room and could hear Dlo being frustrated with having to play with Rudy, and Jon insinuated it was awkward to hear.

- Rudy also knew that Dlo did not like him

- Rudy very excited about Conley, can trust him - did not trust Dlo

- Wolves pursued Bones, Crowder and Bey

It is disgusting even to read... These guys are supposed to be professional on and off the floor. If it is true about DLo behaviour it changes COMPLETELY my view of this trade. Let me explain. Imagine Jamal Murray **** openly on Jokic. How you can build anything positive in such situation? Damn... That is the saddest thing I have ever heard about team chemisrty... On positive side I love Ant even more:

I also wonder how difficult was this situation to handle if I am thinking about Finch benching DLo in couple of 4th quarters this season and last playoff series. Without JMac and with Nowell struggling to hit open 3s and execute and defend... You have your lead guard who behaves absolutely unprofessionally on and off the floor. Damn... Coach and GM nightmare. And obviously you wont ruin completely DLo's trade value, so no whispers in media...

The negativity is that we went and helped the Lakers and Jazz.

And by helping the Lakers we also hurt our chances which is exactly what the Jazz wanted but we still helped them out anyway. Suffice it to say we made the trade in the summer look even better for the Jazz. So not only did we screw up then we are attempting to patch it up by helping another team the Lakers at that come back from the dead.

and that’s an extremely lazy, shallow opinion.

Every team in the west got better you cinder block brain. We're currently 8th in the West. And the main teams save SAC at #3 and NO at #7 that we have to compete with got not just better but potentially waay better. We just helped #13 who literally has LeBron become a playin candidate. If we get pushed into the playins do you really thing we have what it takes to beat a fully powered LeBron and Co.?

Shallow? If you think so you're a moron.

If you do you're delusional. I'm pretty sure he's aware this might be his last real shot at a ring.

Mods? Is this allowed now?

Well said. Simple as that. Solid A minus grade.
