Dlo is worse and harder to hide on the defensive end then it is to get Gobert involved in the offense

Just saying, Gobert can have positive impact on offense if he's used properly, as most players he could become a negative if asked to do the wrong things.
He definitely wasn't in the way of letting the jazz have the best offense in the RS.
It seems to me many grade players on style points.

Dude all he needs to do is hit some shots from three and playmake a little and its already a success. Both of them he does really well.

Lakers don't need another short PG.

They need shooting, which DLo provides.

It's not loser mentality. Kobe did the same thing to Smush Parker lol. Kobe went to the radio station and basically said his teammates suck. Said they sucked on camera to random ass people.

The Timberwolves brass traded away their locker room leader and the guy that gave them their swagger for a guy that nobody freaking wants to play with.

No, I am being loud about that. You traded a guy that we liked for a guy nobody wants to play with. For a guy that doesn't make us better. For a guy that screws up any sort of offense because he has no game. He's not a vertical spacer. He's not a good pick and roll target because he can't catch. He can't pass. He's a big freaking zero.

We have the best big man shooter to ever play, giving us all this space, and you replace him with this freaking guy.

Yeah, I'ma say what everyone thinks and feels. And I am going to let him know he sucks and why we don't pass him the ball.

While Gobert might be offensively inept he was still part of the best (or one of the best) de in the NBA in Utah. And he's still a defensive force. Might be the fit, might be he declined, might be he's unhappy with his role...

And I'm far from Gobert fan.

MJ didn't let Rodman get away with it. Or Wennington. Or Longley. Or Cartwright... Or...
Then again we're comparing what MJ or Kobe would do to what D freaking Lo did.

DLo had literally one good year in his career. Ever since then he's either been atrocious or getting carried by his better teammates

dude needs to get his head straight, I have never seen a player that gets talked up so much for literally having no meaningful achievement

I couldn't believe he had an "iconic" moment or he had an "iconic" celebration.

I would be mad, they loved Pat Bev and now they got freaking Rudy Gobert lol.

Most NBA players can't stand an offensively inept guy.

Yeah, I am going to be loud and about a guy like Gobert wrecking my freaking offense.

Fans get to bitch and be children, players have to be good teammates. No ifs and buts, if someone complained to me about a teammate I'd say focus on your own damn job or tell it to their face if it needs to be said.

Guys always talking about what MJ or Kobe would do, massive difference in being the unquestioned leader of a team, even if they make mistakes at times.

it's not like those two were such incredible leaders and teammates.
When Kobe smashed on record Smush Parker he wasn't doing that to help the team, the only reason for that was making an excuse for the poor team results to move the responsibilities from himself.
And jordon continuously attacking Cartwright (who was the real leader of that Bulls team) because Krause traded his buddy Oakley for him was childish and immature.
That BS is not leadership, that's just the immature behavior of a bully.

A „PG“ who doesn’t have the skill to throw lob passes in a PnR sure would bitch about „clogging“

this is a poor way to handle a situation with teammates or coworkers and shows a lack of professionalism and leadership and an inability to constructively deal with frustration.

This guy is one of the weirdest players of all time. One of the best defenders of all time in an era that demands even more skill from big men on defense, yet the dude cannot catch an easy pass like this. It's absurd.

The MJ/Kobe style of leadership is terrible and only works because of their own supernatural talent and will to win. No one was talking about how MJ was a great leader when he was berating Kwame Brown on the Wiz because MJ wasn’t good enough to carry his team through force of will.

Case in point: what roles players have been considered great leaders who have taken the MJ/Kobe approach? None, because guys hate playing with them because they aren’t dragging their teams to wins (which fixes almost everything).

Draymond punched Poole and everyone knows it was a big negative for the Warriors. MJ punched Kerr but no one cared because he was freaking ‘96 MJ.

I think I'd rather have Lou Williams. Not going to pretend like I watched every game of Lou's but he seemed a lot more consistent than DLO and he appeared to understand his place on his teams.

Per 36 numbers are almost identical but advanced stats put Lou in the lead. For example, VORP: Lou 23.2 vs DLO 9.4.

Don't get me wrong, when DLO is on, he's ON. But that playoff series against the Grizzlies was brutal and it felt like he cost the Wolves the series.

Big_Aristotle wrote:And yet, the wolves gave more picks for Gobert than the Suns did for KD... go figure.

How so?

The Wolves package (NBA.com):

• Malik Beasley
• Patrick Beverley
• Leandro Bolmaro
• Walker Kessler (No. 22 pick in 2022 Draft)
• Jarred Vanderbilt
• 2023 first-round pick
• 2025 first-round pick
• 2026 pick swap
• 2027 first-round pick
• 2029 first-round pick

The Suns package (NBA.com):

• Mikal Bridges
• Cameron Johnson
• Juan Pablo Vaulet
• 2023 first-round pick (from Phoenix)
• 2025 first-round pick (from Phoenix)
• 2027 first-round pick (from Phoenix)
• 2028 first-round pick swap (from Phoenix)
• 2028 second-round pick (from Milwaukee)
• 2029 first-round pick (from Phoenix)
• 2029 second-round pick (from Milwaukee)

Based on that, both teams gave up four first round picks and a pick swap.
