This might be sarcastic but I’ll respond to this like a serious post

1- his shooting % is OK for a big. Treat him like a center and Embiid as PF
2- his style of defense is how Melton or Robert Covington plays defense, so it might mean he can play Melton’s role with the starting unit and Roco’s role with Tucker at C during their Rox days

I understand people need to get their hopes up, but dude has worse advanced stats than Thybulle, and Melton shouldn't get mentioned, he has 2.06 RPM, he is a good player.

Decent add. Not a better player than Thybulle, but fits our team better and gives us some lenght at the forward position.

He also gets us under the lux tax, which is not important for me, but I can understand for the folks how need to pay this bill, it helps.

I liked Matisse though, but I understand you cannot pay him the money he would like to get next season, with the way our team is constructed.

Still, we are in good position, but Bucks and Celtics are better probably.

All-in on next season, when Doc is gone, Tobias is an expiring and is attached with Tyrese to get that legit 3rd star.
Let's see who comes available between now and next year's trade deadline

It's always nice having a 6'9" athletic guy that can handle the ball.

McDaniels has had decent steal and block production in his career. He's decent on the glass. He was a decent playmaker in college and, this year, he's flashing his playmaking more than he ever has in the past.

We need him to shoot well for us, though.

Watching NF tape of him, he looks woefully light. He'll be a PITA to shoot over, but the Lukas, LeBrons, etc of the league are going to push him around.

While his 3pt shooting is down, it is encouraging that his FT% is 85%. I think being assisted by Harden with Embiid drawing all the attention should give him higher quality shots. He has to at least be more consistent than Thybulle, right?

All stats say he’s a good defender. Positive on/off DRtg, +1 DRaptor, 84th percentile among wings in defensive rebounding 13.8%, opponents shot worse when he’s defending them and he’d be second on our team in rim protection (better than Paul Reed).

Offensively, he wont need to create like his Paul George like when he’s with the Hornets.

He fits perfect with our starters (as another big with Biid) or with our bench (compliment Niang and Princezzl Harrell).

Its a very good bet that this guy will be better on our team than what he is right now. I wouldnt be surprised if he plays career best basketball with us.

I think this is a huge upgrade over Thybulle! 7 foot wingspan, not afraid to shoot, and is just as good as defender. Still can’t beat Boston, or Milwaukee (not even close) but we’re better.

To what extent a better percentage than Matisse or more attempts than PJ?

3 pt Per 48:
Matisse Thybulle- 1.7/5.1 33.3%

PJ Tucker- 1.2/3.1 39.1%

Tobias Harris- 2.5/6.7 37.4%

Jalen McDaniels- 2.1/6.5 32.2%

Not sure if he's going to play Mattise role or Reed

-1.17 DRPM, he is a negative defender.

RPM is the best advanced stat we have available, it would be nuts to not use it.

It won’t happen but he should probably get consideration as a starter. Move PJ to the bench and have him serve as the permanent backup 5.

All of these total value metrics are for dumb people who want to seem smart. Imagine being so cucked by Nate Silver
