With that said, Magic beat the Nuggets.

It's too bad. This could have been a good year to stealth tank and get a high pick to add to this group. It's still possible but doubtful. More teams r going to tank now.

I get the sense from Masai tanking the season on purpose wasnt in the cards. They added Poeltl cuz it was a need. At the end of the year they will have an 82 game sample of what went wrong. They always do their fixing in the off-season so I expect us to retain or get assets for guys.

If I had to guess Poeltl will help but our lack of shooting/creation will still be a problem. At best we could get 8th seed. I just hate being stuck in 7/11 range

Do you see any silver linings after this trade deadline?

After this season? No. You may get to see a quick playoff round this season though.

Nope - all scenarios point to a worse future season's on-court performance. Only positive is some additional revenue this year from play-in and possible 1st round of playoffs

Come on team tank we still have a chance.

Fred and og get hurt again.
Siakam is rested and Poetl doesn't fit as well.
Gary Scottish and precious get to play and develop.

We extend Poetl for 4 year 60 mill and get some savings becusee of his subpar play.
Siakam missed third team all nba and gets extended at a normal max.

Fvv extend at 4 year 120 after no one else wants to offer him anymore.

Gary Trent gets a nice 4 year 100 mill deal.

Flynn develops a bit and we sign him to a small extension.

Precious also signs a 4 year 60 mill extension.

We manage to tank and get a top 4 pick like 2021.

We move og along with Boucher and porter for a major haul in the offseason.

We still get out top 5 pick and then use the mid level to sign a shooter and try again next year.

Everyone signs for cheap and we get a top 5 pick and we get value for og. Win win win for everyone.

Maytricks championship time in a few years

We'll start to win more because our defense will hold up playing more mins with a legit big. Having someone (besides Birch who didn't play) actually know how to set a screen is going to make Fred and Gary look a lot better, which will make them more valuable for potential S&Ts. The winning will recover everyone's value because our position of keeping guys will seem more credible. We'll be better able to make educated decisions on who to keep/trade/let go.

I ride with this team regardless. Yes, I want us to improve and be a championship contender and be excited to watch them but it wasn't gonna happen overnight. I am disappointed in the current product though, I don't want these bish ass *** on this team who don't wanna be here and are ruining it for the rest of the team though.

Those fake wins against teams resting or missing players really came back to bite us. If our record was slightly worse, maybe Masai would have had resolve to change direction. But realistically, he's not that type of GM. that leaves one course of action.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Barring a major injury (or two) TWO is probably dead. Especially for next season.
They've chosen their direction and it's effectively as anti-tank as possible while still leaving room for an outside opportunity that it manifests unintentionally this year.

Like it or not, we are going to have to adopt Masai's vision of patience at this point and watch the team from a distance more often and judge it a bit more softly in the short-term.

But man, in the interim? You're looking at some ugly, ugly basketball lol. It is what it is!

I still think we finish lottery. Fred and OG are for sure going to get injured again. Barnes is usually good for another leg injury. We still have no shooting. At worst we finish in the late lottery 10-14 rather than 5-9. If that's where we end up I'm looking at Cason Wallace and Taylor Hendricks hard.

LAST NIGHT FAKE WIN COUNTER:

Bucks beat the Lakers without LeBron - FAKE WIN

Nets beat the Bulls without Ball - FAKE WIN

Hawks beat the Suns without Booker - FAKE WIN

Magic beat the Nuggets without Murray - FAKE WIN

Unfortunately, no real wins last night boys.

It's ironic to me that Masai preaches patience multiple times when the FO lacks the patience to build through the draft and get another top pick in a strong draft.

If injuries do happen, and we somehow stay on the tank then that could be a blessing in disguise. Bounce back strong next year with a top pick.

I looked at remaining schedule.

I see us going 15-11 down the stretch if all goes well for record of 41-41

We could be probably looking at 13-15 pick. Which kinda fkin sucks. I get the waiting for the summer to make changes but No idea why we are aiming for 8th seed

Poeltl will help but this team cant keep trading 2s for 3s

But If we continue to lose / injuries happen, I hope masai pivots and rests guys again.

see how the next 10-12 games go

I'm still on the tank, until we move on from this core and Fred, and start building with Scottie as #1a or #1b

That could extend well into next season as well

We traded our first round pick next year for Poeltl you say?

It's top 6 protected
