Was the Warriors receiving 2x 2nds just early reporting, or did we actually get 2x 2nds also?

The Warriors sent 2 of their own instead of ATL. So they didn’t net more picks but ended up exchanging a couple of the five.

Ah thanks. I know we owe ATL a second or 2 in the future. Omari Spellman (?). Wonder if thats one of the 5.

Is it for sure that GP2 can't play for the rest of the season, or is that speculation? If he's ready in time for the playoffs, the original intent of the Dubs FO will be fulfilled -- they just (way) overpaid for his limited availability. They still dump JW's bloated contract and some of the lux tax, and pick up someone who might help them win in the playoffs. If the league rules allow this, I think that they go back a renegotiate with the Blazers and get at least a piece of his compensation paid by Portland this year, and maybe next... Not sure if that's even possible under the CBA and lux tax rules, but it makes sense to me. Otherwise, I could actually see the Dubs suing the Blazers for fraud, given the very large tax implications that keeping Wiseman will have. The league absolutely doesn't want anything like that to happen.

I think that we send him back. I don't see Lacob being cool with shipping out Wiseman for an injured GPII who might be done for the year.

Monte Poole:

...the Warriors still could – and likely would – choose to waive the failed physical and retain Payton’s rights, even if he is sidelined indefinitely, multiple league sources told NBC Sports Bay Area.

So they'd get nothing back for being lied to? They're so desperate to dump JW that they take back an injured player with a reasonably large contract anyway?

Why the eff would we do that? I'd rather take Knox & 5 seconds than damaged goods.

Yeesh. How would you like to be the guy who's traded for a guy who is sidelined "indefinitely?" What does that even mean? GP2 had core muscle surgery in July and has played all of 15 games since. Also, how much would the Dubs want to be rid of Wiseman for them to meekly agree to the deal despite the damaged goods received in return? Finally, you have to hand it to Portland - They really found a creative way to mess with the Warriors at the trade deadline.

does anyone know what can be adjusted, if at all? can the warriors keep bey or knox and the 5 seconds? or can only the portion with the blazers and warriors be adjusted?

Pure speculation, but the issue would seem to me to be pain which is a pretty much ineffable thing in human beings. If his surgery was unsuccessful and he still had a torn tendon or had re-torn the tendon can’t imagine that wouldn’t be both known and disclosed.

Gp had surgery in July and they’re not sure if he’ll be ready to play in may is just insane.

Also what is going on in Portland that dame, little and gp got adominal surgeries?

Meanwhile, in Detroit, 19 year old Jalen Duren's response to the trade was to put up 30 points, 17 boards and 4 blocks tonight. It was the 20th time in 48 career games that Duren has posted at least 10 rebounds in a game. In Wiseman's 60 career games, he has posted at least 10 rebounds all of 3 times. If the deal goes through, Wiseman will have gone from the frying pan into the fire. :D

Blazer fan here. If any of the worst reports are true GS should be awarded an unprotected first from Portland or at least the 23 knicks first and keep the seconds but hopefully Portland didn't cover things up like that. If it is a cover up Cronin needs to be fired asap

As I just posted before seeing your post it would be known if the tendon had healed. He also had the surgery pre-season.

I watched the end of that game, and Detroit looks WAY more physical than anything that JW is used to... Unless I'm missing something, he'll never play there either -- at least this year. He doesn't bang at all.

It’ll be good for him cuz he needs to face that physicality and learn that’s what he needs to bring. It won’t be overnight obviously but in a couple of years it’ll be good for him to see and face. We really had no one for him physically. One of his biggest weaknesses.

With Wiseman you wonder how much of the hype was his association with Penny Hardaway this highly recognized former All-NBA player.
