Jaylin Williams is really making some strides.

the J williams are no joke.
Still think Jaylin's ceiling is way too low but he can shoot and pass the ball pretty well...there's at least a chance he ends up being a fine back up.

He is. I think his future hinges on his shooting being real, though. Not 50% real, but upper 30%. He’s been impressive lately.
I’m a sucker for big men who can pass.

I got Bazley vibes with Mann...a lot of talent but just not smart enough. I think he's the next player to get traded (hope this offseason if he still has some value).

shai is going to be on the brink of doing something rare. .500 FTr and 90% FT.

aside from billups and durant, everyone else that did it seemed to be a random coalescence. can shai mantain? having a guy like this makes offenses far more resilient.

Shai is too good for the tank. He worked hard on his body...attacking the paint so easily now.

Need Chet to shoot well from three and draft/trade for a PF that is good from outside too.

Shai back with 10 minutes left in the 4th...Presti came to terms with the idea that we won't get a high draft pick.

At this point we might as well keep giving him some time the rest of the year to figure it out but not at the expense of Joe. We shouldn’t look at Joe as a finished product even though he’s a bit older. Mann just can’t create for others and can’t pass. Schlecht talks about okc wanting players that can make a decision. Mann isn’t a good decision maker. If he’s on the roster next year I hope he’s stacking up DNPCDs if he hasn’t improved.

I think the fans need to come to terms with that’s not the only way to build a contender. Perhaps we can still get in the top ten with some trades. Maybe Houston drops a little bit in the draft and we offer them their picks back in exchange for a swap this year. Maybe we trade for Bridges. Maybe Chet is really NBA ready, Giddey gets stronger and J Dub improves his three ball. It’s a good time to be a thunder fan.this year has been so much better than expected.

I was impressed with Sharpe tonight. That guy's going to be a beast in a couple years. The physical tools are off the charts and the skill level is pretty high too. They just don't let him do much right now.

It's amazing how everyone seems to forget that Chet was regarded as the best prospect in that class for years before his foot exploded. If he can stay healthy, there's plenty of reason to believe he'll be a really good NBA player. We obviously already got an amazing player in SGA. Josh has an outside shot of becoming all star good if he can improve his shooting more. I think we're actually not in that bad of a position.
Obviously I'd love to have Victor but you can't plan on that no matter how bad you are

Re: OKC Thunder 2022-23 Regular Season Discussion
giddey was a huge problem on defense in this game. maybe chet helps, but playing defense without a rim protector means the switching and pnr tagging has to be on point- and giddey is sometimes just too slow to keep up. at the start of 4q portland was just running horns and giddey was getting beat repeatedly off the ball. when he was targetted directly he offered little resistance. i thought the defense was obv. helped by dort coming in, but also helped by giddey coming out (wiggins and joe are better).

agree. He's gonna be a very good player.
Blazers FO is really betting on their young guys and don't want to go full all in for Dame (rightfully so) otherwise I would love us to try to get him.

The fact that Clay Bennet lets Sam build the team the way he wants is one of the greatest assets okc has. Portlands ownership situation has complicated their situation. They are stuck in limbo. A lot of GMs aren’t as dumb as they seem because owners are forcing them cut salary, rush a rebuild or draft a prospect they believe in because of a YouTube video.

Sgas mind is processing the game so fast its unbelievable. He is actually seeing the game in super slow motion. The pickup of Joe was unbelievable also what a difference maker his shot will be.
Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
