It was the 20th time in 48 career games that Duren has posted at least 10 rebounds in a game. In Wiseman's 60 career games, he has posted at least 10 rebounds all of 3 times. If the deal goes through, Wiseman will have gone from the frying pan into the fire.
I watched the end of that game, and Detroit looks WAY more physical than anything that JW is used to... Unless I'm missing something, he'll never play there either -- at least this year. He doesn't bang at all.
It’ll be good for him cuz he needs to face that physicality and learn that’s what he needs to bring. It won’t be overnight obviously but in a couple of years it’ll be good for him to see and face. We really had no one for him physically. One of his biggest weaknesses.
You can't teach a guy to be a dawg. You just can't. That's why the mental aspect of the player you're drafting is at least equal to the physical aspect. One of the first big red flags regarding Wiseman was his quitting on his Memphis college team after only 3 games played. I don't think he's just averse to contact. At some level, I think he's averse to playing. That's the antithesis of a dawg.
