Mentally speaking, he was our only defender. Ham needs to button up our defense.
I like the trade because we do have ways of covering for losing his defense, like playing Reaves and Lonnie more, and Beasley. There’s no way of covering for the missing defense of T Bryant.
Plus, there’s upside if Bamba develops into being consistent as a backup. I’d start him to move AD to the four. Mo is another tradable piece in the off-season.
Rings since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4

I dunno. I sense mo Bamba won't live up to what Thomas Bryant gave us.
And I rather have russ and bev over dlo.
I don't see dlo doing much better in the area of turnovers. At least russ was tenacious at times on defense.
We gave up warriors Thomas Bryant, bev, and russ for a bunch of slackers.

Gotcha, but I’m not as down on it. Losing Russ’ expiring was worth way more than his on court value. Now we can continue being over the cap and long term accrue more expensive contracts via trade of D Lo and Bamba if they don’t fit. That’s a must if we’re to compete against the high spending teams like GSW and LAC.
We don’t necessarily need D Lo’s scoring, although his 3 pt shooting will help. But he can score, so he can always be traded. We needed his contract more than him.
Russ’ defense sucked worse than D Lo’s. Thomas was a 7’ cone to run around.
Beasley can shoot, so can Bamba. Beasley plays some defense, and apparently Vanderbilt is a defensive dawg…
On court, the trades made us a little better. In future trades, it made us much better. That’s how I see it. I’m optimistic about it.

Both are bad perimeter defenders.
On the offensive end of the floor, a team can "tolerate" the poor shot selection, low 3-pt fg %, and turnovers as long this occurs only during the regular season. However, during the playoffs, where defense, half-court offense, and limiting turnovers have more of a premium, Westbrook's play destroys any chance to win.

Is the plan to start Mo? Or is Davis at center a longterm plan?

What part of the last 3 trades that Beverley has been involved in suggests he has value?

This trade was one of the best and most unrated deals IMO

Playing a big role for playoffs teams in the last decade and having a man to defend the star of the opposite team has a lot of value I can tell you the teams who traded probably would wanted him back. But maybe that kid turnaround in to a decent center well see I don't think so for what he showed.
