Lets see how today goes and if Bron is back next time

But regardless, these moves set us up better for FA and for next season

Sadly no Bamba either tonight, suspension, should be back next game iirc

Tonight I want to see:

Dlo, Reaves, TBJ, Rui, AD
Dennis, Beasley, Lonnie/Christie, Vando, Gabriel

I really hope it isn't Dennis and Dlo starting together....but I wouldn't be shocked

These trades have set up for Lakers to trade LeBron and Davis actually.

DLo (26), Beasley (26), Reaves (24), Vando (23), Bamba (24)
Lonnie (24), Christie (20), TBJ (23), Rui (25), Gabriel (25)

They have a 10-man squad they can keep that are under 27. Looks like a rebuild roster to me.

Rui, Vando, Bamba were the main pieces from each of their trades and they effectively play the position of LeBron and Davis.

Barrett/Fournier or Simmons/Mills would do it for Lebron

Wow Lebron still out. How serious is this injury…

With Ham having both Russell and Schroder in the starting unit, who exactly runs the second unit?

I was just thinking about that – they really don’t have anyone. Also, James in Westborough created all of their office and you can see how ugly it is right now though of course it’s the first game. I really hope when James comes back Vanderbilt has made his way into the starting lineup as has Reeves.

AD/James/Vandy/Reaves/DLo

AD/James/Vandy/Reaves/DLo

That lineup makes a lot of sense but I feel like someone will have to get hurt in order for Ham to “stumble” upon it.

Probably. As we speak the Lakers have already taken four 20 ft. jumpers. It’s highly likely that DLo and Beasley will forget how to shoot once they become Lakers

If Rui Hachimura remains in the starting unit ahead of Vanderbilt (after about a week) there should be an investigation.

AD becoming an all time loser. 0/4. Remember Bron was droping 40-50 on Peak Draymond and Iggy, AD cant even do 1/2 with a way out of prime Draymond

Ham is an F coach honestly, the (Please Use More Appropriate Word) starts both point guards together and then benches both (with AD out and no Lebron playing)....

Rui continues to miss shots....

Loving what I am seeing from Vando though

I am unsure if he can/should start though with AD and Bron

Spacing would be a bit poor, probably fits better with Bamba, but I am open to it b/c the defense would at least be solid

Vando's energy really pops off the screen. He needs to start, or at minimum see big minutes next to LeBron and AD.

I have a feeling LeBron + this bench lineup would be a killer

A live/ active rebounder that you have to put a body on also creates space. I don’t see a problem starting Vanderbilt alongside LeBron and AD.

Rui Hachimura is not providing any type of spacing.

DLo is an SG defensively, he's like Westbrook which is why Bradley started so many games last season. Lakers had to start Schroeder because they traded the other PG defender (Bev).

This is the problem I have been alluding too.

Technically Reaves could be a PG defender but Ham hasn't seemed to realise that or doesn't seem to trust him as a starter.

I'm hoping Bev comes back after a buyout

I don’t think that can happen. He will be free to sign anywhere, except LA (Lakers).

I have a feeling if LeBron is healthy then a Vandy/LeBron pairing is going to be one of those monster ones he’s had throughout his career.

Meanwhile I’m not sure if Davis is healthy or not because he should be playing like the best player on the court but he’s not even one of the five best players in this game so far.

I also thought we would see a lot more screen roll actions with Davis and Russell seeing as hell Russell is probably one of the best pull up three point shooters of the triple in the NBA who would have to be respected in that action.

AD low-key isn't a good screener. He doesn't create that space for the ball handler.

Idk what's up with AD, he just looks so lifeless out there. Night and day difference compared to how he was in November and December. Biggest disappointment has been his inactivity/laziness on defense.

Vanderbilt only getting one shift per half is disappointing

Can't remember where I saw/heard this, but some years ago someone described AD as the most inconsistent superstar in the league or words to that effect.

Normally consistency is what separates superstars from everyone else, but this guy can oscillate between "best in the league" and "just kinda there" for long stretches of a single season. It's maddening.
