I mean it’s a bit of apples and oranges though.
The Heat had 9 healthy bodies tonight, one of which was a guy they signed days ago who had only played one game for them.
Plus they were on a back-to-back while the Magic had the rest advantage.
Beating them with depth was the smart play and unfortunately their starters simply outplayed the Magic’s starter very significantly after the first Q.

playoff teams always turns it up a notch in the second half. They just keep the game close before that.Knightro wrote:I mean it’s a bit of apples and oranges though.

That’s what our boys need to learn still. You have to learn how to pace.

This game was no fun. I will keep replaying Suggs and Isaac defense in my head.
Cole Anthony keeps being our best playmaker wow, would expect that.
I dont know how we lost that. Unfortunetly we have some players who always will screw up in pressure moments and find a way to lose.

All people have done for the last three weeks is point out how bad Paolo has played and how he’s smashed into the rookie wall, but the solution tonight is to get even more mad about the fact he only played 34 minutes and not 36 or 37?
We’re killing Mosley because waited too long to bring the guy that’s been struggling for weeks with his workload back into the game?

The big game is on Monday. The Bulls could fall all the way down to 7th or 8th in the lottery.

He played that many minutes because of overtime. Whether he's struggling or not, he's still our biggest offensive weapon and should not be sitting out the majority of 4th quarters. He should be in with 7-8 minutes to go. Not 2-4.

Franz has been **** awful. I’m sure he will turn it around soon but it was frustrating watching barrel into people and miss open shots, I mean we have other capable scorers now he needs to learn how to step back when he doesn’t have it.
Suggs should be playing closing minutes, Mose needs to adjust the rotations accordingly. Suggs absolutely wrecks the other team defensively and he’s really starting to make the right play consistently on offense. He is constantly putting pressure on the defense on or off the ball.
I also feel more confident with him taking an isolation 3 than any other player, I feel like he is a weirdly clutch shooter.
Hope these last few games are a learning experience for the players and coaches

Also, hearing the opponents team fans drown out the the home court fans with let’s go heat, Knicks, Celtics, Lakers etc is so embarrassing!
I wish we could get our crap together as a fan base.

I agree...i don't care how bad he's playing right now...he has to be out there to try to work through the issues....NOW is the time to make the mistakes and learn how to be effective....if not now then when? He has to be out there and if he has a bad start to the game at least give him enough time to redeem himself or finish strong....what kind of rhythm can you have coming back with less than 4 minutes on the clock? After sitting for that long?

5 vs 8 helps too, when they are calling you for air fouls like the Suggs/Bam play and then you get an offensive rebounds go up for the put back get raked in the arm and they swallow whistles that makes it more difficult....Knightro wrote:I mean it’s a bit of apples and oranges though.

This feels like a bit of wanting to have our cake and eat it too.
Do we want to force feed Paolo or do we want to push for the play in? Because right now with the way Paolo's playing and the way the bench is playing, it can't really be both.
Paolo's had one game over 50% shooting in the last 10. He's in a vicious slump. Conversely, the bench has been extremely productive during that stretch.
So we're in a weird spot. Are we taking the pure development path or are we taking the do everything to try and win path?

I think the main problem is that he leaves some guys too long on the floor and then he brings them in for few minutes when they are cold.
He screwed Suggs minutes.
There is also no idea how to put Banchero in advantageus positions. I dont know if its more on Mosley or our guards.

BTW, finishing with the 5th worst record while developing guys sounds great to me. We all know we would be in the play-ins, at the very least, right now if were healthy all year. We're in a good spot IMO.

Paolo and Franz made 0 3pt FG this game. We are lucky we were still leading by 10 half way 4th Q. It is definitely our bench unit with Cole and Suggs. I really wish we could play them till the end, and we probably won this game

Even if he's struggling he still draws the defense. He's still a threat. That alone justifies him being on the floor. You can still play the bench. Just figure out the rotations so that Paolo isn't coming in with only 4 minutes to play. They fixed the weird rotation that had Franz going to the bench with 3-5 minutes to go in the 4th. They need to fix this one now.

I guess my biggest gripe is the wholesale hockey lineups. Take Suggs out for a few minutes. Put him back in the last 2 minutes. Same with Paolo, Isaac, and Franz.
Just game-planning things out more than just the obvious starters vs bench units. You know? It just doesn’t seem like a decision he’s making actively in the moment, but moreso something he’s preplanned. Maybe I’m completely wrong.

Regardless of what is going on in the game, Mosley looks like he almost always keeps to his play sheet

Ultimately it's still our own fault we lost the game and that should always be the focus, but that was obviously a foul on Bam. The salt in the wound was immediately calling the foul on Fultz afterwards to put them at the line to tie the game. If you let the one thing go, you should let the next thing go too. It was two guys going for the ball, resulting in contact. No worse than what had just occurred one second prior. For that reason most of all, it was horse crap, and it sucks to lose to the Heat again.
