Why do the Grizzlies not feel as dominant as they were last year?

I know they have had injuries, but something still feels off in terms of the way they were beating competition last year.

Simple, they are unprofessional on and off the court. Ja's attitude in general is super clown. "We good in the West". He's not as crazy as Kyrie, but he's sure a clown. His friends and family causing problems on and off the court at games. Dillon Brookes is a super clown, and this has nothing to do with his atrocious hair, just his trash attitude in general.

Second, West got stronger. SUNS, PELICANS, NUGGETS, LAKERS all are stronger since last year. Grizz aren't winning a title this year, not unless their players mature overnight.

They've hit a rough patch without Adams, I think they'll be good come playoff time. They also dealt with extended JJJ and Bane absences

Last year Dillon Brooks missed most the year, this year he's been healthy and Bane has been out, singlehandedly tanking their offense

Because they are not as dominant as last year. Worse record, worse SRS, worse offense, etc.

They are known for not a skipping a beat when players are out with injury but they've been struggling without Steven Adams in the last few weeks.

Also I think they are getting a better effort from opponents this year. They aren't catching anyone off guard and lots of teams are coming for them after some of the comments etc they've made.

I still think they need another big piece to reach true contender status.

A big loss was losing Melton & Anderson who are making impacts on their new squads in starter roles.

Also, Steven Adams has been hurt who helps out ja & the other guards create offense with his big screens and his ability to pass & Oboard

You're probably right.
Or, they're not taking the regular season very seriously because in their minds it's beneath them now.
Or both.

- The offense isn't quite where it was last year.
- They lost a very good playmaker off the bench (SloMo) and another good depth piece in De'Anthony Melton.
- Dillon Brooks took a step back on offense (but improved his defense. This matches the team's overall trend).
- They force less turnovers so that takes some of the potency out of their transition game.

Let's just say that if I'm a Memphis fan i pray not to face Golden State in the playoffs.
Lots of talking, lots of stupidity off the court.
And they haven't done anything noteworthy on court.
They need humbling.

Maybe if they spent half the time the spent dancing on the court and throwing cheap shots or talking nonsense off the court on playing and getting better they wouldn’t look half as dominant as last season. They have lost all focus . They are to immature for their own good.

For one thing, their sixth man is starting for the third best team in the East, and they replaced him with rookies.

I don't get to watch many of their games, but it seems like they are ignoring one of the most important aspects of today's game - three poitn shooting. I don't know if they were better at hitting outside shots last year, but this year they just don't look very good at it. With other teams improving in that area, the Grizzlies feel like they might be getting left behind in that crucial part of the game.

They have been very good and have a decent chance in a series vs. anyone in the west.

Because they talk a lot more **** than they actually show on the court?
