Theo Pinson hit his prime during thr 4th quarter of the last Kings' game. Gotta trade him in the summer while his value is still peak Theo Pinson.

He looks like a 4-5 pizza slice kind of guy to me.

But yeah, maybe he skips the 3rd piece, but still eats the fourth and fifth slices. Still an improvement.

The observation is - Green defends Fox well until the King run pick-n-roll. Green just gets completely picked away. And there's little to no resistance in the paint without Maxi on the floor. Ntilikina is the only one man-handle Fox but then, Kidd opts for Bullock and complete failure on both end of the floor with Bullock.

Ntilikina was the turning point against Booker and Pheonix last playoff. Against a 6-5 penetrating threat, you just need to play Ntilikina. I don't think Ross, Barton, or anyone available could get it done. Nor could the trio shut down KD. While you can hope Green learn to defend pick-n-roll, Bullock being hardworking, Wood and McGee block shots like crazy, Maxi's back in top shape, why not train up Ntilikina and sign another big for Maxi role.

If you believe PHX (KD, Booker), DEN (Porter, Murray), and GSW are the teams to beat, then Green and Ntilikina need to be big part of the rotation. And Ayton and Jokic present big problems to the Mavs even with a healthy Maxi. Powell ain't going to get anything done. McGee can somewhat be effective if the mind is reset. Wood could somewhat defend in top shape. Bertans ain't going to play. You truthfully need another big with Maxi skillsets. Incompetent coaching has to be fixed. Or else, the Mavs miss everything. I am ready to look at Udoka as replacement.

From last game, the spacing isn't good - the Mavs has no post presence and the King can deny the passing lanes easier whether it is 5 players on perimeter or Luka tries to pass from low posts. The turnovers and offensive boards changed the course of the game. Of course, the Mavs looks puzzling on off ball movements and what to do with the ball. Both are fixable.

That's playoff basketball. Which is why Wood needs to step up his defense for him to have a spot. Because Kawhi will do the same play and our bigs need to be switchable to smaller quicker defenders. Guys like Gobert are not playable in the playoffs as seen when the Mavs gave Utah a spanking last year.

I rewatched this game again. Kyrie in the halfcourt set used plays he used to do in BKN. Except that those no look drop offs from screens go to Watanabe for 3. This time he drops it off to Theo Pinson. Huge difference to go from league best shooter to well, Theo Pinson.
