i expect him to be more impactful offensively in about a month of chemistry growth, but where i think he can shine once he gets the calls and rotations down is on defense. i bet he is so much better on defense in a month that people will be shocked. you can see he is behind atm but i can also see with faster recognition he'll be much better. of course, he's not going to stop ja or the like but within our team D he can shine.
NAME ON THE FRONT OF THE JERSEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(!)

I think Moose is giving the Celts what Gallo is supposed to the give Cs, but with better defense.

He’s been all you can ask for, but Gallo is a far more complete offensive player with much, much better creation skills.

True.

But what I saw from Gallo last season, with the Hawks, he's not very good defensively.

I'm not saying Moose is a better player than Gallo.

What I'm saying is the Cs just need a big who can make shots when they're open.

That's what Gallo was supposed to do for the Cs this season.

But since Gallo got hurt, Brad did a great job by getting Moose to take Gallo's spot.

Yeah, I don’t think you need to qualify the year you’re talking about when referring to Gallo’s bad D, lol. I know you were just making a loose comparison, just went a touch far imo, is all.

Muscala is a late 1st/early 2nd round talent and a role player. However, he has 2 elite skills - 3 pt shooting with no hesitation and quick decisive ball movement - as a role player and when your role player has an elite skill that is a tremendous advantage. It’s what made Eddie House so special in 2008.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

he's essentially Gallo lite tbh. You honestly cannot ask for more from a 4th or 5th 4/5 I think he's a sieve on defense though. Gallo is too but he has better size. We are ridiculously stacked. This is the deepest team in the league and maybe of all-time. We really went all-in and you have to hand it to Brad. We may have mortgaged the future though. It'll be worth it if we win a championship though.

Those 2 elite skills at 6'11" and you'll have a solid career as a role player in this league
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

His shooting is huge for us off the bench but we will see if he is playable in the playoffs due to his defense... Teams will attack him in the pick and roll...

Apart from honoring his late mom, who was born in 1957, Muscala also picked 57 for his jersey number because the Celtics won its first title in 1957.

This may not be true, but I’ll go with that story. Muscle Mike was meant to be a Celtic and is the missing piece to title #18.

I don't want to call him Moose. The last moose we had was good in the regular season. Than he hardly played in the playoffs.

Muscala is a gunner. Comes in shooting. I like that about his game. Brogdon and Hauser aren't shy either. Neither is Prichard off our bench.

Even if he's just a match-up dependent option, he's a great tool to have in the toolbox. You can throw him in there as and when the match-up is right and take advantage of his shooting without losing too much on the other end. If he gets picked on too much, we're so deep you can just switch him out until you've got another opportunity to put him out there.

Love that we have 40% three point shooters for every occasion to come off the bench now. Pritchard/Hauser/Muscala, basically Joe can take advantage of sticking one of these guys out there any time they're not likely to get roasted on defense and really stretch the floor and open things up for our studs (or just rain down 3's if they're not getting respected). Guard/wing/big, wherever the other team is lacking, that's where we can match-up.

Our top 8 guys for the playoff rotation are all plus defenders, so that trio is just icing on the cake in terms of being able to come in and do damage. If Timelord can stay healthy as well, he'll be able to help mitigate some of their defensive shortcomings playing that rover role.

Ahem, gentlemen & the lovely & very astute Shaqette.
PS I tried to get my daughters to become CELTIC fans. Allison’s response: Why would anyone want to waste their time watching a bunch of tall freaks put a ball in a hole? At least Amanda (UVA grad who recently became one of the key members of the Google ‘You Tube Music Recruitment Team” beating out 50 other applicants - SO SO SO proud of her) used to wear one of my TRUTH shirts & ‘pretended to be interested’ when I used to take them to games back in the day (dropping ~$1500 each time for the 3 of us to have close up center court seats).

Please give me credit for nicknaming him Muscle Mike - even though he is not muscled. LOL.
I do not like Moose. I hate hunting. And I don’t like Gunner Mike because I do not like guns - except to protect myself & my loved ones if it ever G-d forbid became necessary. Magic Mike is pretty good also. You all have my permission to use it on random occasions. LOL.
And thank you to those currently referring to him with the nickname I mother **** chose - makes me feel more appreciated - beyond my occasionally astute & always thorough basketball insights & my OT maximally informed medical posts in my areas of expertise.

Outstanding analysis!

As long as we never refer to him as Magic Muscle Mike I’m good. All of Australia and Vinny Sex Pants were already too much.
