This doesn’t affect his failing a physical and deciding to keep him or send him back of course, but it doesn’t look good.
It was reported that GP2 is the one who told the Dubs about the Toradol injections. So to have his agent come out and say otherwise, the agent is essentially saying 'my client (GP2) is a liar'. If that is the case, seems like GP2 needs to fire his agent yesterday.
Can you show me that?
Also lets be clear - it an agent, and he never said that GP2 didn't get toradol. He said it wasn't given pre-game to get him through a game, which is something that would be done to intentionally manipulate, or (troubling enough) to get a player through a very important game, like a playoff game. I'm sure there are agents who are good people out there, but as a rule I see agents as people who were too slimy to be lawyers
Fun note too: In his quote, the agent said "GP2 has never taken toradol to be available for games.. for the Blazers." Thought that was interesting because of what it implies, since GSW knew GP2 had a core muscle issue to end last season and he played in the final 5 games of the Finals. It points to the W's using toradol on him for the same injury. But to also be fair to the Warriors, thats an accepted practice in the NBA. Toradol is basically concentrated ibuprofen/Aleve and it can really do wonders in terms of pain management for the short-term, mostly deployed in playoffs or super important games
Posting on the other thread I was going to suggest someone should ask you as you would be familiar with the use of the drug in a sporting context which you obviously are.
What you say was pretty much my less informed surmise, that they may have given the drug to him in an injectable form short term when he first returned. I presume the complications of the drug are worse in the more concentrated injectable form which is why it is only given for a few days.
As someone else, iirc Chris Porter's Hair, said it is irrelevant if he had the problem at GSW, and the same would apply to whether he was given Toradol at GSW, he wasn't traded to Portland, they signed him as a Free agent and may even have outbid GSW, so the onus was on them now they were trading him.
