Oh yeah, 2015.........so we've lost once in the first round in 7 years, 6 playoffs, and one top four pick. I'm not sure you can call that first round mediocrity.

2022 - First round exit
2021 - Missed the playoffs
2020 - Lost in the second round (with Lowry)
2019 - Won the chip (with an actual squad)

Teams with pascal and vv leading have been ass come playoff time.

No no, no side stepping the argument. I was responding to the statement about 1st round mediocrity. That's a big statement that holds weight. Y'all gotta be accountable for the hyperbolic s*** you say.

I am purely talking about this edition of the Raptors post 'chip, post Lowry. They are ass.

Don't give a damn about the past edition of the Raptors because they are not on the current squad. You want to run up in the thread and cause havoc...well, you have it now.

What are you going on about? I said, I don't think this team is going anywhere. And they might not even make playoffs. I never said anything about their history since 2015 lol. I'm talking about todays team.

The thread got cut off. I am responding to this guy who is talking about our "1st round mediocrity". My point about 2015, was that before last year, we hadn't lost in the first round since 2015. That is many years of not losing in the first round - 6 years to be exact. Our only other year we stealth tanked, and got Scottie, which is also not mediocrity.

We can keep the Fred and Pascal led team going and being a mid team. Then after many seasons of not getting past the 1st/2nd round in the playoffs, we run into another star aligned lucky trade of Kawhi - and Team Mediocre will be like "I told you! It was all part of a plan to win a championship"

Masai and Riley are alike as in they dont want to tank (aside from Tampa year where he did cuz of circumstances).

So we are likely going to follow what happened to Heat starting from year 16/17 (41-41) and then 17/18 (44-38), 18/19 (39-43). They were stuck in the middle and treadmilled for a few years while trying to find gems in the draft and develop them (Bam)

I dont consider what the Heat did post Wade a successful team building. They got Bam and Herro as nice pieces but neither are stars. The only star the Heat got is Butler as a FA which we can't emulate. The bubble finals run on entirely on Butler's back. Now the Heat is capped and getting old - about to enter the treadmill again.

Treadmill begets treadmill.

The most recent successful team building process is what Ainge did in Boston

Philly's roster was built by tanking. Boston's roster was built by tanking. Memphis' roster was built by tanking.

The other top teams got lucky and drafted their best players later in the draft (GSW, Denver), but they still built through the draft.

Masai seems to think we're the Lakers and can get all the pieces we need via free agency and trades.

He thinks Fred + Pascal + OG + GTJ + Jakob + Scottie is enough to contend for deep playoff runs. Without even consideration that OG is not happy with his role and Scottie and GTJ dont like playing next to Fred.

Masai needs a long look in the mirror and stop being afraid to move on from long tenured players. Kalel said it well that the criticisms from trading Demar really did some long term emotional damage to Masai.

Can we please do a shadow tank? If we can add a top 5 pick to this core, I believe we could make a deep playoff run in the coming years!

Masai ain't doing it. They're in win now mode, tank is dead this year and next. They're going all in to make the playin.

Lakers suck. Seems like the entire league is conspiring against us to ensure we don't get a top draft pick.
