I'll always cheer a victory over the Lakers.

Thybulle has been a player coveted here for a long time so hope he keeps putting up these type games. Fits in that hole Hart left so hopefully is a smooth transition as our starting SF and clearly the team will love him.

Reddish is about what is expected for me. Flashes potential and looks like a guy who could do things but just doesn't quite put it together or play with much fire. Has disappointed almost everywhere he has been. No idea why he was gifted the starting spot over Nas who has been kind of solid all around recently and really put in his dues to have earned that nod. But there is always the chance he finally figures it out here, maybe having mentors/influences like Dame and Billups will unlock something he has been missing so far as a pro.

Sharpe is crazy man, he is just going to be a top notch scorer someday, his pull up game is underrated. If he figures out how to consistently draw fouls he is a threat anytime the ball is in his hands. It would take a really very special player to trade him IMO.

Lillard, lol I cant believe how many people were saying he was cooked this summer. Would be such a waste of a year of peak Dame to miss the playoffs though, and with the play-in within reach this team wont stop trying and stealth tank. This late season could be a real nail biter whether the Blazers end up with a lottery pick or a playoff position.

I think Thybulle will be a better fit at SF than Hart was. Hart was at his best at SG with a team that spreads the offense more… it’s why what he’s doing in NY right now is no surprise. He’s playing his natural position and doesn’t have to share shots with three high volume shooters like Dame, Ant and Grant. Thybulle doesn’t need a ton of shots and he’s simply a better defender than Hart. Thybulle wasn’t a fluke he was on the All Defense team last year. As long as he can hit an open three once in awhile, he’s gonna be an awesome and more natural fit at SF.

As for Reddish… willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for this game. He was definitely playing out of position. That said, I don’t see him getting the starting SF spot. Think the starting 5 when healthy is locked in as Dame/Ant/Thybulle/Grant/Nurk

Man, if Thybulle can shoot it changes a lot. Love the idea that he shoots well, teams don’t trust it and we manage to get him on a 3/15 or something. Those types of deals can really be huge for a franchise.

But it’s probably just odd luck.

Thybulle is really a great fit in Portland, especially with the ball dominant players in Dame, Ant and Grant.

Should be able to get him on a reasonable deal for not many teams will pay for what he is which is a niche
player.

I LOVE that we’re compiling players from the NW. I have this fantasy of adding Lavine as a questionable upgrade Ant (or sharpe) and Love as a back up 5 next year. I think we should have taken a look at Terrance Ross as a back wing too but we’re kind of stacked right now at the 3 which seems crazy to say. Can’t think of a back up 2/4 from the nw but it wouldn’t have to be exclusively an all NW team.

Dame/Pritchard
Lavine/Sharpe
Matisse/Ross
Grant/Nas
Eubanks/Love

Not sure how good that team is but they would be fun to root for.

If Thybulle keeps up this level of shooting while he wears the Blazers uniform he's a steal. But there is a "but"... It's not likely to happen.

i hope we can hold onto sharpe. Short of anyone vastly overpaying That’s a guy you just let develop over the years. His length and heigh make him an ideal 2 if he becomes what we are all hoping. Lavine for anf, hmm that wouldn’t be awful though. Dillon Brooks would be pretty slick too, one of those guys you hate if he’s not on your team love if he is on your team

Another Sixers fan here: he’s not a super physical defender, so he’ll struggle against some of the bigger SFs. His strengths on defense are his amazing hands, timing, and athleticism. If you really want to unlock him on defense, put him at the head of a zone. He’s a terror.

Hope he does well for you in Portland: he’s a good guy and easy to root for.

Awesome quote from Matisse: "We're playing the right way and when you do that, like, the balls going to find energy"

This win, even considering LBJ was out, has me starting to question tanking. What I'm feeling confident about is that after another off-season, we might be ready for a real playoff run.

I think those that are disappointed in Cam in the 2nd game need to reset their expectations. In 19 minutes, his offense wasn't good, but his defense was - 2 steals, a block, and 2 dimes-- he's not even in shape. He's inconsistent on offense, but his talent is worth it.
His defense along with Thybulle's and Grant's may be enough to change your season.
He'll have this game where he's unstoppable, and then people will expect that every game, and when he doesn't deliver, he's called trash.
Its going to take him time to get consistent on Offense and I really don't know what that looks like except no one can stop him going to the hoop and he can shoot free throws.
He shocked me and alot of knick fans after we saw his Defense, particularly man to man. It's something that is consistent - - all of a sudden you've got two guys(added to Grant) who can guard the best of the best --- and Portland just needs them to hit a few open 3's.

I love watching Matisse allowing the offensive player to get a step ahead of him for a drive. His recovery is elite and it works usually.

The Lakers suck, but they aren't our rival. No Laker fan cares about the Portland Trail Blazers.
Our rival will always be the Seattle SuperSonics. It will never be the Oklahoma City Thunder. And it is sad that team no longer exists.

Its sorta confusing that Thybulle is 6'5 w/ 6'11 WS while Hart is 6'5 w/ 6'9 wingspan. Matisse looks much taller and longer out there, but they are the same height and the WS is only +2 for MT.

Loved what he brought last night. Kid is a corner 3 away from being a tremendous 5th starter.

Cam I am not buying, but he was the cherry on top of that move. To me it was for the FRP and a Reddish tryout. If he works out, great. But I dont pay a guy who shoots 40% from the field unless he has a tremendous specialist skill to offset (Like Thybulle and defense).

Shocked people had any doubt in Thybulle. Just sad the Blazers had to trade Hart. The only chance for the Blazers to be contenders with Dame being the #1 option is to acquire these types of players to surround him with.
