That's going to 100% depend on where the Magic are in the standings late in the year.

They're not going to stop pushing for the play in.

If they go on a losing streak right after the all-star break and find themselves basically eliminated with 10-12 games left, then I could see this.

It's basically a Chuma v. Bol argument.

I'd say Okeke gives you a consistently higher floor and won't have as many complete disaster games on both ends as Bol will, but obviously Chuma has virtually no chance to hit the highs that Bol can hit.

I'd probably play Bol and I don't even like him that much.

If Chuma could make 38% of his threes he'd be a long-term rotational piece as a switchable forward. If he can't get up to 34% I think he's going to bounce around the league. kind of seems silly that 4 shots out of 100 make much of a difference, but when you start talking team efficiency, and I would think at less than 50% effective rate you are starting to creep into that, shot should be taken elsewhere range.

You can never have too many wings or combo forwards or whatever you want to call long guys that can guard multiple positions, BUT in the Magic's case they have several, potentially another incoming from draft, and they need the cream to rise to the top. I'd say it's probably a much safer bet that Chuma can shoot at a respectable percentage, already is high volume....Bol has a lot of work to do...

At the same time Bol is probably the most fun player to watch on this team....i'd say most frustrating too...but there's a lot of competition for that.

I really hope we increase his minutes and that sitting out of b2b games is lifted.

It is 99.999% the Magic is drafting for bench depth.

LOL no. You gotta stop with this thought process.

The Magic are not drafting anyone with the goal being to have them as bench depth.

Is it possible that's what those players end up being in their rookie years? Without a significant consolidation trade where the Magic trade 3-4 rotation players for 1 really good player, then it's perhaps likely to be the case in Year 1, yes.

But the Magic aren't and absolutely should not be going into the draft with two lottery picks *seeking out* bench depth.

You certainly don't draft players with what role they're going to play in their rookie seasons in mind. You have these guys under team control for five seasons. The goal is to draft guys who you think will become the best possible players over the life of that first contract.

The Magic is drafting BPA X2. And hope both players will compete for GOAT. But that's not the point. The point is that Orlando essentially has a starting five and the rookies will not start on opening night unless one goes in to God mode in camp.

Thus: Orlando's rookies will support bench depth.

..

I think if our 2nd FRP is around 10-14 I too think we draft the best fit...

They are just creating time for Okeke. I expect them to alternate for a while.

Isaac was never going to play B2B this year.
