Harden and Maxey should've been in the all star no question.

I take back what I said earlier. I think every all star that made the team deserves their spots. They worked hard for their teams to earn the selections. My only gripe is because Iam looking through my own lens and think Harden has played at an all star level this year. But Iam not the one that votes. So be it. I hope Harden can turn it up a notch and help us win what really matters this year.

An All Star where a 33.5 PPG with 64% TS player is not starting is pure abomination, as simply as that, joke of event.

Glad he didn't make it. The disrespect and hate should motivate Harden and Embiid to dominate.

Agreed, they’re both already a little complacent so this will be better than if they both got their laurels. Now if only both would take that resentment seriously and be like ‘I’m going to do what it takes to play cold and ruthless to get my revenge’ instead of like ‘I’m going to grind my teeth and drive into everyone and chuck up shots.’

I'd say that Harden is more likely to get mopey but I still don't think he cares.

Also should discourage then from thinking about personal accolades over championship.

I just find when the most talented teams sacrifice (most times take paycuts) and put the team over personal awards, they usually win championships.

the MVP hasn't won much since Steph did it and the second time he lost in the finals.

Well that's because they are itching to give it to jokic every year knowing full well he's not even going to the conference finals either year.

Pretty much every other MVP was at least expected to compete in the past. Until Joker

But one exception was Russell Westbrook. But he had the top narrative entering into the season and exceeded it greatly... Even then some people thought there was a chance that he could "Jordan" them to the finals. Narrative being Kevin Durant leaving the team which was the biggest storyline. The team expected not to make the playoffs, and of course being the first player to average a triple double in forever... Beating a lot of the top teams and clutch shots.

Well even if he leaves, the trade was still a HUGE win! now Bum Simmons is a huge issue in Nets camp, let them deal with such malcontent.

I mean, no one expects him to take another pay cut, but by the same token good luck finding a team who is willing to give him a 5-year max with his age and him being already out of his peak.

We're still his better bet on that front and i don't think we should give him that cobtract either.

At the end of the day i don't think he can find a team with a better situation and with enough cap to give him the contract-

I’m not sure Tim McMahon is a really reliable source but he mentioned harden wants a 1+1 deal . Max the first year and the second year player option. He dosent want to be locked down anymore

In a perfect world we just sign him to a 3-year flat deal ala Chris Paul. 3-year, $120 mil seems fair for both sides.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

His entire team is acting like he wants a bigger contract if you add this to the Christmas stuff.

Seem weird to me

It’s put up or shut up time for Harden. All the posturing won’t mean anything if he doesn’t do something in the playoffs to change the reputation that he’s afraid of the moment.

Yeah this is pretty straightforward.

Show up in the playoffs, and you can write your ticket. Don’t show up again, and you can stfu.
always a jump shot away.

James Harden vs the Celtics, Bucks, and Cavs this season:

27.8 PPG
5.8 RPG
9.8 APG
55.3 FG%

Most metric says he’s a top 12-15 player in the entire league.

He has been absolutely incredible the past 1-2 months. Some combo of his increased shooting efficiency & improved burst has rejuvenated his iso game. He’s still dreadful to watch on defense for 10-15 possession every night but he’s exceeded my expectations for sure.

He needs to stay healthy and then go all out in the playoffs. No more excuses. The fact he doesn't want a long term contract is good for both sides as he will have to continue to bet on himself and take that very real risk. The owner needs to go for broke, Harden is wary of a cheap owner like what happened when Tillman took over the Rockets.
