To the fans, stay with us. We're just starting. For a lot of guys, it's our first year here. We were able to get this thing going in the right direction and I credit the front office with going out and bringing quality individuals here this offseason.

wow. That really shows how much of a class act derosa is. That is incredible in my eyes that he took the time out to apologize AND take responsibility for not coming through, and pretyt much taking the blame. Wow is all i can say. Floors me. I'm glad there are still some guys like this in the MLB and I'm very happy he is on our team.

I gotta say as much as I hate Jimbo at times he really made a great deal getting DeRo here. Class guy and I appreciate everything he said. Hopefully Soriano lives up to the money next yr.

I never held a grudge for his DP, but definitely a surprising and classy move by DeRo...he'll be a fan favorite for life at this rate.

Not necessary, but appreciated. DeRosa's still the best middle IF we've had since Ryno.

Exactly 2poor... it wasn't necessary... but it does go a long way to demonstrating what sort of character he has.

my hopes for 2008 is that Derosa be replaced.. consistently grounds into DPs.. we don't need that. Hopefully we get mark cuban and he'll do the boot.

He also has a .371 OBP (one of the highest on the team), can play multiple positions and is on a cheap contract. For a 2nd baseman he's a plus offensively, you're not going to find someone better for his money.

i was skeptical about the signing with theriot--nothing against derosa, just seemed like wasteful spending, but he really earned his keep. valuable, flexible team player. keep him around.
