Nico and Zu are going to get some well deserved minute breaks after these trades

Seeing tonight why I was all in on moving Luke out and Gordon in.
He's a functional ball handler, will shoot the three, can still get to the rack and defends.

Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

You can see how inaffective Klay is without the greatest shooter in history batting cleanup for him.

as idiotic as their decision has been to keep morris (and let's just say short-term because maybe they have some kind of rabbit in the hat long term)...
this bones/plumlee/gordon pickup? A++ so far.
plumlee obviously was the most needed pickup but i had pretty much zero expectations with bones and eric. and both have exceeded them by a LOT, thus far. i was especially sad about losing luke for gordon but i'm gonna straight up say i was dead wrong about it. he has had so many glue guy plays from the GUARD spot that i've lost count. that's something you just normally don't get in general, and something we were never going to get from reggie.
i'd also add: before paul george, remember who the king of terrible mid-air passes was? yup, it was eric gordon. and in this game he's not only done it a few times, but they were absolute, on-target lasers - with virtually no chance to fall into the wrong hands. has this been something he's worked on over time? i was already happy from a sentimental point of view to have one of my favorite clippers ever back. but now i'm actually excited since he actually looks like a legit, impact guy that we legitimately can use.

Morris was 2-7, 6 points, 3 rebs and 1 lousy assist. He has always been my Least Favorite Clipper.
But he was a team-high plus+16. Kawhi OWNED it tonight. And Marcus is here for his fit with Kawhi.
Maybe Ty knows something?

Re: Game #60: GSW @ Clippers Tuesday 2/14 7 PM on TNT
I think if nothing else, tonight showed the potential these three guys bring to the team. Gordon looks great for his age and is a great backup for Norm (regardless of who starts), Plumlee is not as stout as Zu on D but is more mobile and improves our front court size, and Bones is by far our quickest guard and can definitely give us some juice when he’s on the court.
I’m sure there will be ups and downs (especially Bones), but so far our new roster seems like a promising mix- especially if Bones proves capable of playing 15-18 MPG for us.

Last Chance Dance. Eric Gordon will have cashed in almost $200 million in the NBA [!] and almost all of it has been a misery.

In fact the only fun he ever had was here. It was a mercy that HOU let him go.
EJ, Bones and Plumlee are MOTIVATED to be here.

They definitely brought it tonight. Love EJs fit, Plumlee allows us to run a lot of that chest action, dribble hand offs and short rolls that Zu is still clunky at. I think he's a perfect piece for the bench to help them play outside of ISOs and can fit with the starters when required, die to us athleticism and great passing.
Bones, 5 fouls in 16 mins isn't gonna cut it. Don't think he's in the playoff rotation outside of if we need someone to go nuclear and Norm doesn't have it.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Bones will be fine. He was fun to watch. Aggressive and plays at a higher pace which this team badly needs.

oh please, Mann is a placeholder starter and Zu is a Clipper ROCK.
At age 34, Batum is too old to start every night. Some nights he doesn't do shttt at all. We all hate Marcus but he's steadily mediocre lol
But who cares about starters--
Plumlee-Norman-Batum-Kawhi-PG are the closing 5
Gordon-Norman-Batum-Kawhi-PG if we're behind
esqtvd predicts

Yes. Yet another pickup game. We were at full strength and the Dubs without Steph are not the Dubs.
I think at this point, Mann has to remain as the placeholder starter for continuity's sake--EVEN if we bring Westbrook on. But Bones did about as well as Mann on his first day here.
I do think we need to roll the dice on Westbrook--we are not a championship team even if Kawhi dominates like he did tonight. We squeaked through after Kawhi put it away and our wannabes beat theirs. GSW were on a back-to-back; we had 3 days rest.
Nice to hear from your expert ass again, AZJeff.
