I am super keen on this game, and have read from multiple sauces that Wiseman is starting, which i support 100%. Got to see what you've got from the jump.

The question is, who starts next to him?

Also, fun facts I didn't realize, and kind of changed my perspective on Wiseman;

Total games played 60

Total minutes played 1,098

For comparison?

Jalen Duren

Total game played 50

Total minutes played 1,258

Jalen Duren has already played 160 more minutes (3.3 games worth!) Then Wiseman has in almost 3 years.

I'm starting to view Wiseman as almost a damn rookie.

It would be sad to see Duren get pushed to the bench. It'll for sure be interesting to see what the starting lineup looks like tonight.

Killian + Ivey started together last game in the backcourt and I'm assuming we're likely to see that pair start for the rest of the season as Killian seemed quite a bit worse coming off the bench, even though Ivey did some nice things and seemingly played better with the ball in his hands more.

Killian + Ivey + Bojan + Wiseman + Duren

or

Killian + Ivey + Bojan + Stew + Wiseman

Seems like those are the two possible lineups if we're starting Wiseman tonight. Of course Wiseman starting could also be because Duren isn't playing tonight since he tweaked his akle a bit in the last game (but was still able to return) I could see Detroit sitting him out this game and letting him get some rest before all-star weekend.

I remember reading he would start (last game, before the resolve) and thought... just throwing him in? He doesn't even know the team. Why not the bench? It's not like we're vying for a playoff spot. Stew/Wiseman?

Only injuries on the injury report are Bagley, Noel(personal reasons) and Cade.... so it looks like Duren will play as well.

Also, Bagley has just hit 6 weeks since he was injured and that's when he was supposed to be reevaluated. It will be intreesting to see if he comes back right after the all-star break as well or if he'll end up needing a few more weeks.

Really looking forward to seeing how Wiseman fits. I hope this isn't a case of new player anticipation only to be bored with it only a few weeks in like Bagley and all the other reclamations.

I still have hope for Bagley and the offensive chemistry he was developing with Cade last season, but injuries have been a turd in this year’s punch bowl.

Pistons have been injured up and down the roster all season, and sucks for everyone.

Hell, didn't Burks miss the the first 20 or so games as well?

Yeah, no real issue with Bagley's play even with the defensive warts but the dude is a walking band aid. Hopefully Wiseman doesn't follow suit as the walking wounded.

Boston played no starters last night. And judging from the mere 7.5 spread, they won't be playing any tonight, either.

This is getting ridiculous.. It's hard to legislate, but I can see NBA execs sending little memos to teams and especially star players.

I see this a lot. "Well, our main guy is out, we'll probably lose, so we might as well sit everyone"

Now it looks like Tatum & Smart are playing. Line's up to 12.5.

I'm glad. I like to see how we fare against a full team, especially one of the best.

Load management is here to stay, folks.

The NBA can stamp their feet and send out memos but at the end of the day there’s really nothing enforceable here.

And it's reasonable. Even with load management, look at all the injuries across the league. The reality of the 82 game schedule doesn't coincide with a reality without injuries. In the 20/21 season only five players - and one was Bey - played every game. NBA can lessen the amount of games significantly and then they could stamp their feet with some justification.

Yeah.

I realize the NBA is a product and that load management at least in the immediate term lowers the quality of that product, but if it’s in the service of fewer injuries I think it’s ultimately for the best.

Guys are taking many games off, but there's just as many injuries, if not more.

I'd assume Ivey/Burks/Bojan/Duren/Wiseman. But we'll see.

Return to Detroit Pistons
