Is this surprising to people? Most NBA historians view Jordan as the goat. Put a poll up on this board and it reaffirms that.

MJ wouldve also been the scoring leader if he didnt miss so many years

The fact that he missed so many years and still has 2 more chips than Bron says everything you need to know

Brons disney ring doesnt count btw. Mj low key has a 3 ring advantage over him

Jordan couldn’t win a playoff series without pippen . Lebron took a team whose second best player was named boobie to the finals

There's a big difference between couldn't and didn't.

Jordan played 15 seasons, 10 of those were with Pippen and of the five that he didn't, three of them were his first three years in the league with rosters full of crack heads and journeymen going up against all time great teams and the other two were his last two on the Wizards where he actually had them projected to make the playoffs before he got hurt and was effectively done as a impactful player.

Is this the "these are the same people who..." argument that is repeatedly used on message boards?

You realize it could be one person talking about casuals not mattering and a different person talking about casuals mattering right?

Mike is the GOAT but I do wonder how much likeability plays into it. Anyone notice Lebron got booed at the Superbowl even though he'd just broken the scoring record? Granted, it was in AZ but I don't think Mike gets booed in that spot and he knocked off the best Suns team we've ever seen. Kareem suffers from general lack of likeability as well in these polls.

I would agree with MJ as GOAT but if Lebron had the internal drive that both MJ and Kobe had,
he'd be #1 for no question, Lebron had the best physical tools

that’s still just another way of saying he never won in the playoffs without pippen.

I mean I'm sure he had some bumps, but jordan played all 82 in 2003. And in 2002 they were hardly a clear playoff team when he played. They were a game over 500...

that’s still just another way of saying he never won in the playoffs without pippen.

Sure, if you completely ignore the context/reasoning behind why he didn't and just take that statement at face value. But that's normal for Lebron stans when they selectively use these kinds of arguments against Jordan to prop up Lebron.

Do you mind providing the context/reasoning behind it? I’m genuinely curious as I’ve seen this point of Jordan losing in the playoffs, but why?

The debate was over when Dirk ran the fade on the heatles and then finally the dagger when the spurs snuffed them. That would never happen to his airness.

Because he played against great teams in a stacked conference with virtually no help despite putting up eye popping numbers. Just look up all the teams the Bulls played in Round 1 and then look at the roster he had to see why he kept losing before Pippen came. Hell even when Pippen got there, he wasn't some instant impact player people make him out to be (he didn't even start lol) as it took a few years before Pippen came into his own as a star.

Lebron just doesn't win enough to be the GOAT.

And when Jordan lost to the Celtics and Bad Boy Pistons it wasnt because he was a no show. He still balled out. Miami lost cause James didnt play well. Wade outplayed James. Jordan was always the best player on his team, especially on the big stage. Cant say that about James.
