Huh, wonder why he didn’t tell Jaylen this during the summer. Wonder why he felt the need to tell him before the deadline, and I also wonder why Wyc didn’t publicly say this during radio interviews early on when asked about the rumors.

I love Brown but if we dont win the championship this year I think this trade might make sense:

Brown to NYK
Markkanen + filler to Bos
RJ Barret + 3 1st round picks from NYK to Utah

Cave-level bad trade idea.

Pretty clear they are moving Pritchard after the season. Wonder if they do it at the draft, that is technically this league year or no? Would save the teams bunch of money moving him after the playoffs but before the end of the year if that’s possible. Find a team with cap space or TPE and some seconds to burn.

So what’s the best young player Pritchard and the 37ish pick in the draft going to land?

PS got to be someone that doesn’t expect to play much if ever and ideally is not that bent out of shape regardless of if they even actually get on the roster or not.

Right it’s one thing to just throw out a number - a little more interesting to figure out what kind of guy is the right fit. Barring a big move, this team is going to be very deep in the rotation next year. Plus have 2-3 guys from prior second round drafts they might be in the mix.

So again barring a bigger trade there is maybe one spot on the real roster next year. And also this light be the highest pick they have had over several years lol. So just curious what kind of guy they would want to plug into the mix and if they take one at all or just punt it down the roan to when there might be more roster space.

I just don’t see that package having much value for bringing back a player. If no major moves you’re looking at sending that off for a future pick, maybe just PP for a future 2nd and and keep 37 for a flier. See if JD or Juhann are ready, call it a day.

I'm a little concerned that Grant is our only young big in the pipeline -- and of course it's charitable to call him a big. I'd love it if PP + pick(s) could equal some 4 with some upside, but I don't think Pritchard has much value ... someone like Beef Stewart, Stix Smith, Zeke Nnaji -- I think all of those guys have been net negatives on the court so far in their careers, and Stewart is unlikely to be/shouldn't be available, but you never know with the Pistons.

WAIT -- just remembered that Comedian says to buy stock in Jerami Grant to BOS this summer -- have never particularly liked that player, but he'd do it -- don't know how we'd get him here though

Checks a bunch of boxes imo for both teams but would be I believe near impossible before next January under the current CBA, but… they are re-doing it currently lol so what can I say.

Still not sure that allowing top teams with huge cap numbers to sign FA is a good thing. Kind of like the idea for next winter. Thought it would make the whole team suddenly like a couple young-ish guys and a whole ton of guys hitting the back half of their careers. Still would be a big overall upgrade though in my eyes.

I'm not sure how serious the JGrant thing was supposed to be... It started with someone other than Comedian saying he said it...

As far as fliers, I like the tall wing more than the true big for a need. But so does everyone. Kinda why I lean to keeping the pick and using it on someone in that mold, but really it'll just BPA.

Trading Pritchard on his own won't get us much. A 2nd rounder is probably all we'd get or a deep bench player.

But if you combine Pritchard with our 2024 1st round pick or do a sign and trade where you sign Grant then trade Grant + Pritchard for something - that might get us a decent player.

Either way, you're probably looking to add someone with some size who could be an 8th/9th man..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

We’ve talked a lot about Brad’s patterns in trades - “stealth,” all-around players on longer deals etc.

Worth noting he’s really tapped the tankers or soon to be tankers about to flip the switch pretty regularly.

I’ve floated DeRozan a few times (would be tough to do salary-wise without waiting until mid- next season), but that’s the kind of move he’s made. Hooked up with teams with solid guys in preparation to move to the subterranean levels of the league.
