It’s funny how the national media likes DLo,Vando, and Beas now that they’re Lakers. But when they were on the wolves they were part of the dumbest team in the league hmm

Just saw that Pippen Jr. and Beas are now teammates...
...Pippen Jr's mother cheated on Pippen with Beas LMAO. Great team chemistry there.

10 years from now when HBO is ready to make "The fall of the Lakers Dynasty", that will be great entertainment along with LBJ record chase, Westbrick experiment, exile and return of DLo the real GOAT (as in scapegoat).

I am not sure about Mac McClung's ability to play in the NBA but he certainly is ready to star in the next Spike Lee movie - White man can jump. Going to give Kermit a run for his money.

A number of ties here. Not just the Denver guys, but the Orlando ones too. Wonder if we could give him an opportunity, even if it's just a 2-way....

Now that PatBev, Westbrook, KLove, Reggie Jackson are all signed. Anyone else in the buyout/release list that can help us? Will Barton, RJ Hampton, John Wall, or another? Barton got the DEN connection; Hampton is a bigger/younger guard who I assume can play some D; I like Wall's ability to create (assuming he still plays like earlier in the year).

Whoever we add, there has to be serious impact potential, since we'd be cutting bait with someone in order to bring them in. I personally like the Hampton idea, but there is probably less room for a move like that with the NAW addition. Honestly not sure anyone else makes enough sense.

That’s where I’m at. NAW was someone Finch wanted in return so even though I think another PG like Wall or even MCW might make sense for small stretches or a Stanley Johnson as experienced wing defender I don’t see anyone that’s a “yes”.

I'd dump Matt Ryan, and possibly Rivers for any of those guys

Ryan is two-way, these guys are NBA veterans who cant be signed on two-way. Rivers has earned his spot.

Interesting, ORL need PG more than us, why they dumped Hampton? Injury? I also wonder whether he can model his game after Shaun Livingston: big defensive minded PG

Re: Around the league 22/23
If we want to waive someone, I'd take Will Barton. I think he still has a lot of value to a decent team. I don't know that there is anyone on the roster that we want to part with though. Knight, Moore, Minott and Rivers seem to be the only possibilities, but don't think we are eager to part with any of them.

I think Hampton could potentially be able to sign a 2-way, but not sure about that.

I don't really consider him a PG...more of a SG with playmaking potential.

Not sure why we'd be wanting to give Hampton a try if a team like Orlando is dumping him.

Because often times it's about environment, and finding the right fit. Look how many stops it took Chauncey Billups to find the right stop in Detroit. He never lost his ability, but it had to be the right environment for him to flourish.
Just like we are giving NAW a chance after Utah largely gave up on him. But NAW had a history with Finch, who vouched for him. Similarly, Hampton has a history with Tim Connelly (drafted him), Matt Lloyd (Orlando) and Jon Wallace (Denver). If they believe they can foster the right environment for this former first round pick to flourish, I think it's potentially worth the opportunity cost.

I get that, but Hampton is obviously still a developmental player. Orlando is in a much better position to give a development player PT and develop him than we are. If they give up on him, I'm not sure he is worth our time and roster spot. If you want to give him Matt Ryan's 2 way spot, maybe... Chauncey was the #3 pick in the draft where Hampton was #24. Probably not a fair comparison.

ORL already has Fultz, Cole Anthony and Jalen Suggs, and a team only can develop a limited number of guards that can’t shoot.
I agree he has potential. I suspect ORL tried to trade him though before releasing him, and didn’t get any takers. We’ll see what happens for Hampton this summer.
